UND has worked very hard for donations at virtually every giving level. I think over time they have recognized gifts of $100 and up.
What I was discussing was your comment regarding what “influential donors” demand. My reference to the 6 and 7 figure donors pertained to that statement. My opinion is that the best institutions don’t respond to boosters “demands”.  They will listen to 7-8 figure donors and their ideas or opinions as to how best to utilize that donation.
No institution should succumb to demands of a booster based on a monetary donation that would compromise the integrity of the institution. It would be an egregious mistake to set a precedent by allowing boosters to demand specific decisions based solely on a monetary donation. .

This same principle applies to building libraries, community parks, and wellness centers. GOOD fundraising has one of two approaches.

    1) City is building a new library. All donations are undesignated and the city makes the decision.

    2) This city is building a “community built playground” and various aspects have price tags from $25 to $20,000. You want to donate $100? You can buy a swing ($100) or 4 boards ($25) for the fence with each of your grandchildren’s names.

Any other process does not pass the smell test….larger, much larger, donors do get some options like given two or three color options for all the seats in the arena( all pre-selected to coordinate).

  2. Not sure what thread this goes on… this morning the Minneapolis Star Tribune had an article in the sports section about NIL for high school athletes. I believe it is the first in a series. A Minnetonka girl’s BB player is the nation’s #6 recruit. She made a deal with New Balance. Her team all wore new New Balance shoes on the way to their state championship. Not sure this is a good direction for high school sports.

  3. Once again, too quiet too long here. Spring ball and no comments? I kept checking and no comments . What’s up? This is an AD issue, not a coach issue. Who knows what Bubba was told?

  4. WOW….just wow. Decisions in dark smokey rooms. Happens all over and bugs me no matter who, what, when, or where.
Not sure how much is fact and how much isn’t, but wow.

  5. The SU head coach and staff…I look for more ladies using exterior walls for restrooms. The team may have sunk to a new level. Everyone looked like they were drowsy from taking Benadryl.

Now our OC spoke well in front of the camera, talked about specifics, and talked about possible scenarios. AND that rather sexy 5:00 shadow, no tie, top button unbuttoned on his white shirt, and a plain white t-shirt showing. As a woman, I thought the overall impression was fit for the cover of People magazine.

  6. So….reading some social media posts on another page. Many comments about the status of college football. Here are a few comments…

“The NCAA is now powerless. They have lost control with the transfer portal and NIL.”

”A program can win a natty among accusations of cheating. Everyone. cheats now; we just have to cheat better.”

the best: “Success with honor is now gone.”

well, if the shoe fits wear it.

Even referencing something like that is going to make some head veins bulge and start off a whole new wave of made up arguments...

I agree. Gentlemen, one could also speculate that UND FB Fan belongs on a nice porch, in a rocking chair, speculating with little old ladies. Buying into to this thoughtless, negative conversation is demeaning to our whole program.

Taylor Swift dumps KC TE for UND TE Quincy Vaughn?   :p

And does a benefit concert at the Alerus for UND football? Tickets start at $50 and go to $200. We get 100% of ticket sales.

    Do we know?
And was Dale all that popular (aka influential) at the time having left UND hangin' not long before.

And who was on, and influenced, that hiring committee.

I think RT handed DL a very dedicated, motivated team with a high level of skills and executions….he had one year and reaped the benefits.  Can’t say he achieved that anywhere else unless I am wrong.

  10. Have you seen all the movie stars with 5:00 shadows? It is the “in” thing now. Some women find it sexy.

As far as tying a tie…trust me the vast majority of high school students do not know how. I can always tell teens who are in FFA when I costume…. They know how to tie a tie!
I personally do not care how he dresses….can he call some new plays and make sure the team knows them.
