As in his coaching contract? Yes. The NCHC is much toughter than the CCHA (aka BTHC) and he is still well respected. He is the 2nd highest paid person at Miami U behind our football coach. (our Prez is 3rd). Missing the NCAAs stings but lets see how these 14 freshman do next season. I see us as WMU was last season (and who is now #6 in the nation). But yeah, Rico has no hot seat.

I think your new Summit/MVFC set-up will provide much better TV than the Big Sky. Seems like the Big Sky was non-existence on TV and ESPN3 broadcast much better than whatever digital stuff the Big Sky had. I think MVFC requires the league members to upgrade equipment and produce all their home games on ESPN3. MVFC also has some agreements with the local regional sports networks like Comcast Sports Chicago and Fox Midwest, etc.

So just to get ahead of the curve. I guess those who keep thinking the MAC is gonna start hockey because there are three of us, We can start the rumors flying about DU, UND, UNO and SUMMIT HOCKEY!!??

quick question - do the other NCHC hockey teams have active message boards like this one? Miami and Western Michigan have active hockey boards and game threads but can't find the other schools. we are playing Omaha tonight and was looking for their board. What about Denver, Duluth, St. Cloud, and CC??

8. Dead Gophers
An old University of North Dakota tradition. Fans would take frozen, dead gophers (how they got them in is beyond us) and toss them onto the ice after goals when UND played the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers. -

Best thing about this league is if we were to pull a win tonight we sneak into pairwise top 16 and 7 of 8 league members in position for NCAA tourney.
