  1. Spoken like a good white person. I would say they families of the black people killed by the klan. Or any minority. Or a person with a gray matter between their ears.

My uncle was brutally handled and murdered in a North Korean prisoner of war camp largely staffed by Chinese . Another relative were brutalized by Japanese. By your academic logic, and lack of generational forgiveness, you are advocating that I should be harboring hatred toward Koreans and Japanese and Chinese.

Have you ever forgiven any one in whole life? Yeah, lets all caste stones on the people that make stupid mistakes, and never forgive them.

  2. It wasn't a rally with faculty. It was a public Q&A style "Great Conversation" at the Chester Fritz Auditorium, sponsored by the UND Black Student Association and the UND Multicultural Center in celebration of Black History Month. About 800 people of all walks of life were there to see the event. Not just faculty. Talk about sensationalizing. You'd fit in well at the Herald.

    Teeder

Either you are incable of understanding sarcasm or the comment was so close to truth you could not bear it. Really defensive there about the Herald too.

Angela Davis' life goal is world wIde implementation of Marxism and studIed at avowedly marxIst schools. But of course the HerAld just call her a civil rights activist and glosses over her acknowledged life goals, by violence if necessary.

To invite her to speak for black culture is like inviting Marx to speak on Jewish issues.

  3. The Red River student section "fans" is now making it through the internet news.

By the Grand Forks Herald sensationalizing this story by headlining "Red River fans apparently dress as KKK" instead of "Three Red River fans dress as KKK", I'm sure all Grand Forks citizens will have to sign up for remedial diversity training to placate the national media. Every citizen of Grand Forks is automatically guilty of racism, at least that's been Jacobs' past view.

  4. What was this? The Red River students wore KKK-like robes to the state hockey tourney? What was that supposed to be for?

The Red River kids decided that their section would be a white-out, which is one of their school colors. Each different group of kids had their own "white" theme, which was never intended to be any more racist than a white-out at a college or pro game. Looks like three RR kids wore KKK-like robes, and they are probably so deficient in their knowledge of what that means that they think it was funny. Other kids wore meth outfits. Can just see it now splashed all other the national media: RRHS students were racist with the twitter photo plastered all over, because of three idiots.

  5. UND, DU are the two "marquee programs" in the NCHC. Do you think that they agreed to not play each other twice the first year so that they can play the other schools in order to bolster the schedules for those schools? Perhaps try to get the "smaller" programs in the conference excited about the NCHC? Just a thought...

They have it backwards. The two marquee programs should be playing each other twice so the NBC Network gets more attractive games in the first season and higher ratings and kick off the contract to a good start. It will take a while to warm up to W. Michigan (unlike Miami), but over time (playoff matchups) that will come. So why not wait a year for a dual series? So why are only getting Denver and Colorado College once? Those are the two programs that have been in this together forever. One series in Colorado in a season for the first time ever. Ridiculous again for our alumni there. Everything that his new league is doing ends up shafting UND.

Bet the longer-term scheduling also has us playing both SCSU and Duluth only once every third year. That means that Twin Cities fans will have a real tough time getting tickets at a reasonable distance for that season for the one local series. They should have at least mixed up geographically the teams that we don't play two series with. When that happens, UM or Mankato better be on the away schedule. Or even offer one of the Mankato games to be played in Target or Excel for a UND home game like Minnesota does with Mankato.

Colorado College and Denver shouldn't both have one series with UND in the same year.

Miami and WMU both shouldn't have one series with UND in the same year.

SCSU and UMD both shouldn't have one series with UND in the same year.

  6. I've seen the Johns Hopkins thing out there also.

From the reseach/CIC/Federal funds notion it makes sense.

But the Big Ten has never gone with anything but full members (no affiliates) in the past. That makes me skeptical about Hopkins for now.

Thought U of Chicago was technically in the group too, but plays DIII?

  7. Made a mistake and looked on bisonville. Good Lord are those fans clueless thinking they are so attractive that the MVC will kick out teams just to get them in. Not that I am an expert of any sort, but do they honestly think winning an FCS Championship buys them anything except more difficult FCS scheduling? Were basketball conferences begging to add Appalachian St and Georgia Southern because of their FCS successes? Ridiculous. So Creighton and Wichita St and Bradley and whoever else will get kicked out of the MVC in favor NDSU and even UND? Didn't Kolpack even state NDSU wasn't anywhere near being on the MVC invite list, and yet they persist in thinking that? Why can't facts sink in? Then they go on about how UND needs to join up with them in football and why the Big Sky is so terrible for us. There is maybe one person there who seems to be reasonable, but the rest are beyond having an intelligent conversation with. Anyone saying North Dakotan's have common sense and reasoning ability would instantly be proven wrong reading that board. Can I buy back some brain cells?

Wouldn't it make more sense to have the Missouri valley conference align itself with the football conference? Bump the mvc teams not in the mvfc and send them to the summit or horizon. Bring along un_ and just get it done.

Turn the mvfc into two divisions, cut out an ooc game and have a championship between the divisions. 2 game ooc, 8 conference games, 1 conference championship, and then the playoffs. 9 teams in each division with the conference schedule running 10 weeks.

    Something like that.

  8. I don't put too much stock in the bleacher report. Big 10 having John Hopkins? I guess the Big 10 is eventually going to have every school under its wing.

Somebody posted that the Big 10 wants AAU schools like Virginia, North Carolina, and Georgia Tech added to the academic and research side. By offering a school like Hopkins, even if it is only for lacrosse, that would make the Big 10 more attractive to those southeast schools. Probably wanted by Maryland too.

  9. hopefully the extra travel day doesn't affect them too much

The thinking probably was to eliminate the plane ride from Denver to Grand Forks and especially the bus drive to Omaha from Grand Forks, and let them relax a bit in Denver. With the weather and all, you never know.

  10. Our bracketbuster game has a little old school flar as UND takes the trek down I-29 to take on Omaha. UNO is making the very long transition to D-1 as members of the Summit.

Short and sweet, UND needs to come out and assert their will and flatten these guys. Lets do something rare and have a road winning streak before 2 big ones at PSU/EWU.

Most important... NO BODY ELSE GET HURT! We might have a full deck next Thursday

Think the team stayed in the Denver area yesterday, and will fly to Omaha today. While keeping tabs on the high school hockey last night, a reporter twitter was also linked to some basketball members, and they were in Aurora (near the Denver airport) last night.

  11. anyone know of an addition/renovation/changes to teh Betty? there are bids out there that some architect firms are looking at and a foundation/bricklaying company is also looking at? i asked to make sure they aren't getting the ipf confused with the betty and both said it is def the betty...?

This document says there will be a 3000 ft2 addition for basketball/volleyball space. On the north end? That isn't enough space for another basketball court. Maybe it's space for accordion bleachers to be moved out of the way for practice or a better concession area? Just guesses though. It specifically says a slab, so doubt it is office space.
