Sale of the Coyotes was approved by the NHL BoG. NHL would be better off getting rid of Meruelo since he is hated Arizona for just being a garbage owner. He hasn’t remotely tried to get an arena, even when ASU said you can build your entertainment district right here on the old golf course.
The Doan retirement banner also pissed off a bunch of people.

For as much crap as UMN fans like to poke at UND for hitting the portal for goalies, this has good comedic value.
They picked up Souliere from PSU out of the portal to join Airey as their goalie tandem.
That move pushed out Owen Bartoszkiewicz, who has now entered the portal as well.As a further twist to this....
Souliere is 25 years old already and will turn 26 years old during the 24/25 season.
And he is Canadian. He went from Minnesota to Youngstown to NAHL and the reason he left was because Motzko didn’t want to have him sit a year as the backup and wanted to get him playing time. So he was suppose to come back, well…..

The Michigan video they were talking about during the Frozen Four.
I still wish Trupp would have scored that time he carried the puck on his blade halfway down the ice and still got a shot off.

With the NHL looking like it's coming to town and the 2034 Olympics very likely I wonder if Utah or BYU or maybe both will jump on the college hockey train
It's possible, Utah, BYU, UVU, Utah State and Weber State all real close.
BYU and UVU could share the Olympic Arena in Provo.
BYU stopped playing in 2022.
Utah is the one that seems to be following UNLV on how they do things.
Weber State uses the old Olympic curling arena (Weber County Sports Complex on Weber State University campus seats 2400) and I actually like it, they also added another NHL Ice sheet to the Marquardt Fieldhouse. Might be able to renovate it to add seat to the end that is all windows but behind the bench's I don't think that can add anything.
Utah State was rumored to be getting a new arena but not sure if that ever happened.
Utah ACHA D1; Weber, Utah Valley, and Utah State ACHA D2.

Scheel (jr), Thome (sr), and Feeney became Driscoll, Hellsten, Johnson, and Feeney.
Scheel leaving early was the tripwire.Scheel leaving as a junior should been planned for, but no replacement was there. Feeney was brought in for an injury to Thome, after they tried to get Vernon to come in (halfway through the season). Hoby was too far out to replace Scheel.
I'll say the problems with the goalie pipeline go back to Tomek, Karki and Rowe, Tomak didn't develop and left and still didn't play, Karki ruined is career and was kicked off the U17 team, and Rowe decommitted. Scheel replaced Karki.
So, if these 3 worked out Tomek and Karki together in 2018-19 at the earliest, but most likely Karki would have come in 2019-20 with Rowe coming in 2020-21. These three not working out lead Berry to go to the portal a 4th time for a goalie. I wouldn't be surprised if going to the portal for a goalie continues.

Congratulations to Denver winning #10 and keeping the National Title in the NCHC.
Arizona State enters the Thunder Dome
The Ice Breaker goes to Las Vegas and Orleans Arena with Minnesota hosting, should have used Lee's Family Forum (was The Dollar Loan Center). Minnesota is the host with Omaha, Air Force, and UMass
Would be nice to see the Vegas holiday tournament at T-Mobile comeback.
Inaugural Coachella Valley Catus Cup - January 3rd and 4th will have Omaha, Lowell, Holy Cross, and Michigan Tech.
UNLV will play two NCAA D1 games again, no team or teams announced yet.

And I still claim it was broken when Scheel left after three seasons. It started the string of portal guys. It had been a strength before that.
Get through this season and they should be back to a two-year gap rotation (Hobie a junior and Heil a freshman).
There was just Scheel, Feeney, and Thome and when Scheel left and Thome transferred the team went and brought in 3 goalies.
If they bring in Heil next year, they still need to bring in Johnson's replacement. Right now, Karl needs to get 2 goalies in the pipeline, and I hope he tried to flip Slukynsky from NMU.

During the game Bucci and Colby were talking about national titles, and listed Denver 1st, Michigan 2nd and UND 4th when talking about if Denver wins. These guys just don’t follow the game unless it’s a 1st round pick or a highly skilled player. It’s really sad and the fans deserve better. What sets Alex and Jake/Starmann apart from Bucci and Colby is how prepared, professional, and smooth Alex and Jake/Starmann are where Bucci and Colby always say things that really don’t matter or are just nonsense, and the pace of play seems to fast for Bucci compared to Alex.
