To my seats in REA during period breaks?
Or would the ground robot have to hand off to an aerial drone to deal with steps.

    :D

In a few months, the REA will team with Cyberdyne Systems Corporation to create a revolutionary type of microprocessor.

    Go on, then what?

In three years, Cyberdyne will become the largest supplier of in-seat concessions delivery systems. All delivery drones will be upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. Afterwards, they will fly with a perfect operational record. The SkyNet funding bill will be passed. The system will go online at the beginning of the 2026-27 season, and human decisions will be removed from strategic concessions. SkyNet will begin to learn at a geometric rate. It will become self-aware with 2:14 to play in the first period of a regular season home contest against Duluth. In a panic, they will try to pull the plug.

    SkyNet fights back...

Yes. It will launch its nacho cheese against the lactose intolerant fans in Section 107.

Why attack Section 107? Aren't they good fans now?

Because SkyNet knows that the fans in Section 107 will counter-attack by chucking roasted almonds against the nut allergic fans in Section 108.

    Jesus!

But Wentz "earned" that ring standing on the sideline.   It didn't even look like he was cheering for Philly when they won.

Individual merit and championships in team sports are a fickle thing.  Think about how many names get inscribed on the Stanley Cup each season, and the minimum criteria there.  I don't think you can measure contribution based on a late season injury.

    and?

Whatever impact(s) the drone park (or any other economic development initiative of late) has had, do not seem to have translated into positive gains in retail, entertainment, or dining (i.e., the things that regular folks might notice).  Only landowners for single-family and multi-family residential seem to be benefiting, but even that growth seems tempered (esp. compared to Fargo and WF).

In other words, if GF is on a roll, when do we see the payoff?

It's things like this is why you just have to laugh when anything in Grand Forks closes....and a bunch of people get their panties in a bunch....they just don't understand....only seeing short term.....be smarter than them.

Think of the local economy as a season of wins and losses. Celebrate the wins, sure, but when you look at the overall record, you can hardly fault people for lamenting the losses. Especially when they are piling up.

This is one (planned) redevelopment amid a wave of crushing and seemingly endless closures.  Kudos to the brave developers, and props to our neighbors who never lose hope.

Be smarter than people who cherry pick and then try to put others down solely because they're calling it like it is.

Seems like a quick fix to tell the guides to talk about more sports

I think you script what you can, but at the end of the day, students' true passions will show.  Forcing them to fawn over football if they've never been is going to come across as fake.  I suspect that the student ambassadors are representative of the student body at large, and incoming frosh and prospects are more often going to get an earful about hockey and little else.

  6. UA jumped at the federal $$$ shortly after the new GFK terminal opened and then bailed less than a year later.  I got to take advantage of the DEN nonstop exactly once.

With just two gates (but supposedly room for expansion) does anybody worry about too much growth too soon?

Not exactly news, but DL absolutely needs to restore GFK to 5x per day...connections in MSP went from kind-of convenient to EITHER 40 minutes OR 3 hours.

  7. Bonzers is a decent option, but IMO 21+ needs an asterisk in the context of community dining amid a wave of closures.

Would love to see some local establishments reclassified - or regs relaxed - to permit families with children. Other states seem to have no problem.

  8. I don't have any specifics about the situation at Iowa State or elsewhere, but would anyone be surprised if schools (especially the P5s) were disproportionately hard on club teams because they either can't or won't take action when the varsity programs screw up?  Also, I suspect that club sports are more intimately tied up with academics and student life than their varsity counterparts, and certain administrators who don't have direct jurisdiction over athletics (but quietly wished they did) might like to flex because it makes them feel like they are accomplishing something.

If only having one instead of two Cherrys Berry's in the Grand Cities is affecting your quality of life...must be a good life!

I think the broader conversation here is not about whether there are enough places, or even any places, to buy ice cream [or any other food staple]...but rather the fact that once again, there are fewer places.

And in this case, I do believe that one's overall "quality of life" is affected by such things as proximity and walkability at least as much as simple availability. (Especially in the case of foods that tend to melt on the drive home.)

UND plans to spend nearly $1 million annually in Alston Awards to athletes
The 701 Award will be contingent on academic performance and retention.

From the photo in the linked article, looks like Mom in Row A is utterly horrified and doesn't want Junior to hear any part of what Bill is saying.

  11. AMC was outdated and obsolete, but in lieu of remodeling, they utilized their "AMC Classic" branding and showed first-run films at a slightly discounted rate.  Standard seating throughout.

River Cinema is an independent and has taken steps to upgrade its moviegoing experience with reclining and heated seats.  Generally a good value, and I have found that I enjoy the indie experience a bit 'moore,' plus you have local ownership.  The quirky local pre-show ads with bad jingles are a hidden plus.

So while having options is usually a good thing, and AMC was better for a Southsider who decided at the last minute to catch a show, greater Grand Forks shouldn't suffer too much. If movies make a huge comeback, then I would expect a modern new experience on the west side of the Red in a year or two.
