So there were not games with a few hundred in attendance?

I know they had the Gopher games where they drew about 5800 in 2014 and 3300 in 2015 which were far and away the largest crowds ever for a UND women's hockey game so I don't think they had multiple games with 4-5k in attendance. Minnesota averaged 1815 fans per game in 2013-14, 2394 fans per game in 2014-15, and 2037 fans per game in 2015-16 which led the country.

There were not games where they offered $1 tickets and only got a few Thousand.

Unfortunately not enough people wanted to watch it.

They had $1 tickets and drew a few hundred people. When there was a men's or women's basketball game on a Satuday afternoon and a women's hockey game Saturday night you could use your ticket stub to get in free and they drew a few hundred people.

I believe UND has given the dollar amount needed to those who would like to see Women's Hockey return.

this is not true.  I went to multiple $1 games and there were about 4-5K there.  Those games felt much different, as there was more of an atmosphere.

And get it $1 or free tickets is not going to generate enough money to support the program, but flat out lies need to be called out.

  3. I'll never understand the hate for Women's hockey.  It didn't just start after the program was cut.  I enjoyed watching the Women play.  Like every sport it was not as fast as the Men's game, but you need to take it for what it is.  No one goes to a high school game and complains that the game is slower with less skilled players.  However i do agree that checking needs to be a part of the women's game as it is part of hockey.

UND should have a women's hockey team.

In the 1990's, UND WBB was way more popular than the MBB team. Without dunking. I do agree with the checking comment.

I realize I'm in the minority, but Men's Basketball is semi unwatchable.  I would much rather watch a game with great ball movement and perimeter shooting than a game full of dunks.

I believe she is a grad student and has used all her years.  They said On TV she is being honored on Saturday.  She really has had a great last year and we will miss her next year

Is there a list of the seniors being honored on Saturday?  Wondering if all the Seniors are being honored even if there is a chance they come back next year or just the ones leaving for sure.

Wondering if Kacie Borowicz will be back next year.  if I remember correctly Orth was honored last year and still came back.

Sounds like the softball complex applied for a tax exemption on a private public partnership to build the new field and apartments. Sounds like the application said they would break ground May 2023

Anyone have any idea when the Softball Complex is scheduled to be completed?  I spoke with a UND Softball player new to the program and see was told the new complex would be up and running by spring of 2024.  To me the seemed pretty aggressive.  Is this a case of the coach making promises to get a girl into the program or is it realistic?

LU really earned alot of respect in my eyes this past weekend. I didn't know that they're playing like 90% of their games on the road. And they're playing hard. Zombo has done a pretty phenomenal job, IMO.

A question for those in the know: Is UND already scheduled to play at Lindenwood in a future season?

Any Chance he would be interested in Coaching at his Alma mater?  Watching both games that is all I think is what a good team we would if we played as hard as LU.  Answer next time someone asks Who would UND hire if they moved away from Berry, the answer is Zombo

UND could better support the football program in ways that wouldn't cost tons of money, such as better scheduling for destination hockey games - I beleive 3 of the last 4 were held the same weekend as UND home FB games?  That literally costs us ticket revenue.

I would like to see a Hockey/Football Destination weekend.  Maybe play Maine both in Football in the afternoon and in Hockey in the evening.  I understand by the time hockey gets going Football is in Conference play and there would be other issues, but I can dream.

Exactly the type of player he is trying to weed out of the program.  One that wouldn't be willing to put in the work to take/keep that spot.  A player with the right attitude would work twice as hard to prive him wrong.

If that were the case he would say No Spot are guaranteed and bringing in players to compete at each position.  I don't get the impression those spots are up of competition.  His son will be the starting QB no matter what the other QBs do.

The first line is where he loses me.  "We've already got of few positions taken care of because I'm brining by luggage with me"  Sounds like he is not given them a chance to earn there roster spots.

Someone needs to tell the announcer to tone down and shorten the “aaaaaaaaawwwwww…………………… it’s 3rd down….  Or stop it all together. By the time he finishes there is little time for fans to crank up crowd noise.

Why do we need to wait until he finishes to "crank up crowd noise"?

Although I would prefer.  "the Defense is on the field get off your Butts and yell" and not wait for 3rd down.

Again, just going on this year, they lost to a power 5 FBS school and to the #1 FCS seed by 2 points. What else could they have done to improve their seed. If they had scored 3 more points against SDSU they would be. #1 seed. I know UND fans are all about if 5 or 6 plays in 3 or 4 games had gone differently we would be 10-1 or undefeated. Literally if one play had gone differently (the Payton interception when they were driving to go up 4 scores in the SDSU game) NDSU would be looking at a #1 seed.

Was only responding to he Fact you said NDSU Beat Montana St badly last year as to why they are ahead of them.  Last year should not matter.

I know I am in the extreme minority but when it comes to hosting playoff games it should be based on what you do on the field not how big of a pocket book you have.  As long as a minimum bid has been met the better team should host despite what the past 50 years have shown.  Just go play and win.

I don't think you are in the minority on this.  I think the frustration is that the rules always seem to change when it come to UND football and the playoffs.

If home field was based of of performance for all other match ups and was that way going forward I think most people would see that as fair.

Other than the fact that AD’s with teams in the discussion have to leave the room you are 100% correct in your blaming of UND getting screwed and NDSU getting the #3 seed.

In case you aren’t following along, NDSU lost by 2 to the #1 seed and by a FG to an FBS team that just beat the #9 team in the country and lost by a score to the #10 team in the country. Oh, and they kicked the s%#t out of Montana State in the championship last year.

This should not matter one bit.  Prior years should not facture into the current year.  New Season, new Teams.  Sadly it does and it should not.

  15. Man it seems like every time UND is in the Football playoffs the rules change.  Quality Loss, Tents for locker rooms, higher bills don't host etc, coin flip of autobid.  FCS payoffs seem like such a joke.

Seed to teams 1-24 and higher team get home field.  NC$$ has so much money.  Just run the Tourney the right way.

I don't think it is as simple at we beat them so we get in above them.  I think you need to look at the whole resume.  I would think UND would still be in over Youngstown having a stronger strength of schedule.  My only worry would be if UND get blown out by NDSU and Youngstown blows out SIU.

Should be the same thing with NDSU.  If UND beats them they would jump them, with SOS, but doubt it happens.

In Forum article it says UND should keep eyes on Missouri State/ Youngstown game because if Youngstown wins and we lose we would have same record as Youngstown. What would that matter since we beat them. I don’t think there is anyway if Missouri Valley gets 3 teams that we wouldn’t be the third team. Is that right?

  18. Sure wish FCS football used something similar to the pairwise.  How does is NDSU a high seed and UND a bubble team with a tougher schedule and only 1 more loss.  Makes no sense.

Win and in on Saturday, but listening to Herder on Izzo's show, if UND were to lose, are the other three most important results for UND the following?

    • SEMO wins the coin toss against UT Martin and gets the OVC auto bid
      • UT Martin wins there goes one at large
    • Sac State needs to beat UC Davis
      • UC Davis in with win
    • Montana State needs to beat Montana
      • Montana win and lock. Like UND would be on the fence with a loss, but I think UND would be slotted if both were 7-4

    Any other games stick out?

The thing that pisses me off about all this is that it has been assumed that NDSU has been in for the last couple weeks.  If they would would have lost to SIU and to UND that would be 7-4 with a worse SOS than UND, but guarantee they would be in based on prior years results.

Even with a UND win on Saturday I don't think they jump NDSU in the Polls and probably not in the playoff seedings.
