I actually don’t hate the Pawlak idea if it’s going to be internal.  The guy has been equally if not more impressive than Danny in building and developing his position.

Who knows about external.  Plenty of position guys that could be looking for an opportunity, similar to Danny.

No Question IMO Pawlak is the best coach on the staff, but would hate to take away his time working with the O-line by promoting him to Coordinator.  Maybe pull an SDSU and promote to Co-Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line Coach. and hire a Co-Offensive Coordinator/Play Caller.  And of course more Money.

Wow anyone hear bubba on 1440

sounded like he was on coke this morning

hasn’t met with that team yet but plans to today

says everyone that moves on makes their own bed etc

tim and the he golf guy said it’s a good move up for Danny. That is where I almost puked. So when is sdsu a step up

they compared it to harbaugh leaving Michigan for nfl

If Paul Ralston is calling this a step up, that should be all the needs to be said to make changes at UND.  It's one thing to be a farm system to FBS teams, but now we are losing coaches to rivals to lesser positions.

    Is this a bad thing?

I don't see an issue with this if I'm being honest.

Yes, its a bad thing.  How do you build a program if you put the time in to develop a player and they leave before you ripe the rewards.

TBH, I would rather UND just drop all sports but hockey than be in that position.

Why would this one be upsetting? You don’t think this was mutual or I’m guessing more program driven?

I don't think it was mutual.  There is spot on the Roster for him.

I'm guessing he is graduating and UND does not have what he is looking for in a masters degree.

This one is the most upsetting.  Can't blame Kilty, as he is going to end up playing FBS football.  I think Tommy leaving was probably mutual and the I don't think the drop of at QB will be that great.

  6. I did not mind going for 2 there.  At least he had an answer for his reason for going for 2.  Bothered me last time when Bubba's answer was they go by what the sheet says.  If you have a play you feel is going to work, I have not problem making it a 2 score game.  Only real problem is they have only converted on 1 2pt conversation all year.

Why do I get the feeling that Big Green would be the first to be complaining about getting swept by BU if the outcome of the overtime would have been reversed.

Doesn't even make sense.  I would be upset if it was called a sweep when it was a Loss and OT Loss.  Not the same as a sweep.

I sweep implies 1 team got at whole pie and the other not nothing.  A split implies both teams got 1/2.

Then what should we call it? Any ideas?

I really wish they would get rid of these stupid formulas and go back to something that makes sense.

Have an NCAA-wide 4x4 OT for 10 minutes. If it's still tied, then it goes down as a tie. If someone scores in OT, it is a win (not 55% or 67% or anything else).

We have made this way too complicated.

    Loss and OT Win.

A little better than you make it out to be.  "Enjoy the season"!

I'll enjoy the season.  OT win is worth 55%, not 67%.  Either way it is not a split.  IMO a good weekend is a sweep at home and split on the road.  That should be the standard of a team looking to win a National Championship.  National Championship should be the goal every year for a UND team.  Like I said they have the right to improve and I expect they will with 8 new defensemen.  Goaltender looks like a great pick-up.

Only real point is this was not a split.  As Saturday was 55% of a win.

Would you rather pretend we got swept?

Picking nits is hazardous for your health.

No, but we didn't split.  It's barely better than the shoot out win Mankato got the weekend before.

  11. Anyone else annoyed by the fact we are calling this weekend a split.  3x3 ot wins are worth little more that a tie.  They are only worth 55% of a win.  Basically a loss and a tie on the weekend.  Not real impressive.  Blew a 2 goal lead and a late 3rd period lead.  This team has the right to get better, but this was not a good weekend.

    11 is TD+2 plus FG.
12 forces 2 TDs. <- That 2 TDs is huge; make 'em go the distance twice, no FG range drives.

You are comparing 11 pts vs 12.  My question is 12 pts vs 13.  Trying to figure out how Bubbas chart shows to go for 2 with up by 11.

  13. At that end of the day we won the game and are still alive for a payoff home game.  If we would have beat NDSU in OT and blew out Indiana state we would be feeling pretty good right now.  Will the opposite happened and we are in the same spot.

Just hoping this last close call was the wake up call this team needed and they finish the season strong.

Every chart I've found says up 11 and XP coming you go for 1 to be up 12. Every

But then I noticed ... they all say down 11 and XP coming you go for ... two.

    Did someone misread a chart.

This is the only thing I can think of.  I have tried to figure out a situation where it was that much better to be up by 13 rather that 12

  15. If not going to say the NDSU game is meaningless, but sure has the chance to be.  All the win did was set us up to be the best team in the state and a national championship contender.  If we finish 7-4 and lose in the 1st or 2nd round we have not really gotten anywhere.  In the mean time if NDSU gets to 8-3, which I think they will and makes a run in the playoffs we are stuck in the same place.  Right now last week seems like a fluke.  We need to finish the year ahead of Ndsu or the win is meaningless.

  16. There is a reason Tommy was a D2 recruit.  He would be a good D2 QB.  If we didn’t have a QB decommit right before signing day he wouldn’t be in the program.  He became the starting QB be default as our QB room was so bad.  I sure hope he is not back next year as we seem to have a pretty good room right now.  I know he gets credit for being calm and composed but he just looks lost to me.

  17. The Rivalry is not the same.  My excitement is the fact we have the #1 team coming to the Ralph this weekend.  A great opportunity for the team to hopefully get a couple wins that will help at the end of the year with the Pairwise rankings.   I would consider most of our NCHC opponents bigger rivals.  But that is just me.

  18. Biggest Win in a long time with the Silver Helmets last weekend.  Need to Wear the Silver Helmets for every game for the rest of the year.  Lord knows the new quarter zip i bought on Friday for Saturdays game will be worn every Saturday until the end of Football Season.

As Far as the Jerseys?  All Green at Home and All White on the Road.  Not a fan of the Black Jerseys or Pants.  Really not a fan of the Grey/Silver, but I'm superstitious enough that they should wear them until the luck runs out.
