  1. Anyone have an idea how many recruits the Sioux are still looking at for 06 or 07.On USCHO and GPL they were talking about a defenseman from Brainerd(Sneep) maybe his name,he has visited BC,the Gophers and Wisconson this weekend. Seems like we are full for 06 but may need a few for 07.

  2. I will probably be flamed for this thread but here goes. Why after ever home loss do we hear the team needs to play with desperation and not just the last ten minutes of each game(when there behind of course). This team has no emotion or fire at all, why? Is it coaching or lack of drive from the players,if it's either one that would point at coaching(no this is not a fire hakstol thread) Why does this team always seems to come out flat with no fire or urgency at all?Maybe they need a different approach to the players and maybe some threats of not playing or less ice time, something need to change and fast or we won't have to worry about the regionals or even home ice for the WCHA playoffs.I have been a fan since 93-94 and have only missed a handful of home games since and have seen many games on the road I have been through three Head Coaches and seen lots of players come and go and this team just baffles me,no offensive pressure,no forecheck and struggles breaking out of there own zone.Watching last nights game Harvard made two or three short passes and they were down the ice and we eat it along the boards and turn the puck over.Maybe we need a different coach for the Offensive and powerless play to shake things up.With all the talent on this team something isn't clicking and if not for a late run last year what would these message boards look like?I know Hakstol,Berry and Eades don't suit up any more but if they could get there players to get up for games like they did it would be a very fun team to watch, sorry for being long winded I'am glad I waited until this morning when I calmed down a little before doing this. I'am out of here

  3. That jab goes back to old threads about the Gophers recruiting Grant to get to Ryan, through the years brothers seem to follow there brothers wherever they may roam so don't get to riled up up Cardinals jab :silly:

  4. I say agree to disagree and move on.Nobody is going to change there view because someone on a message board doesn't agree with either person and nobody would trade players from either team. Each one of those players have good and bad points We could go back and forth forever so why bother. As for Slap Shot and the Triouxper use the ignore button for each other and stop wasting our time it was bad enough when it was Vanak vs. Parise and it gets old fast.I bet if you talked to TJ he would have nothing but good things to say about Kessel or anyone of his teammates and same for Phil.Lets talk hockey vs my Dad can beat up your Dad :silly:

  5. Adding to that A person whose son plays for Bemidji and has played both TRF and Warroad says that between Forney and Marvin he would take Marvin. He says Forney is good, not flashy but very strong and good around the net but he said Marvin is on a level by himself.Lets hope the marvin connection stays with UND

  6. How long can we use youth as an excuse,Minny isn't exactly the oldest team in the league.Someone let Brian Lee know that its ok to take a slap shot and you don't always have to take a wrist shot,in fact tell the whole team it's ok to shoot the puck trying for the tic-tac toe play doesn't always work. One thing that really bothers me is the lack of emotion from this team,it was the same way last year. When I hear Hakstol say they need to play with desperation and they still come out flat you should we blame? At the end of both games when the Sioux were 6 on 4 especially on Sat why were the trying to cycle the puck behind the net,it drove me crazy watching Oshie and Stafford play catch behind the net instead of getting it out front and shooting the puck.Granted we didn't get any bounces this weekend but sometimes you have to make your own luck.

  7. Hey Basil, you know what ? JFR has been an upstanding guy on this board. I guess if he wants to start a topic about Rutgers going to a bowl game after 27 years that's fine by me. I think it speaks volumes about UND that we can attract fans of our teams and university from other parts of the country. So it's not Sioux Hockey, cut the guy some slack, like I said he's been a respectful, interested, and inquisitive poster on here, so if you don't have anything to add or don't want to read his threads, then don't.

    [/Amen brother Triouxper Amen]

  8. I agree with your post Triouxper about Spirko being the straw that stirs that drink but I would feel worse if Stafford and Zajac weren't getting chances,If they keep missing on breakaways though we will have to change there last names to Duberman :silly:

  9. Friday night the Sioux had two recruits sitting with the players who weren't dressed, one was Zajac"s brother Darcy and the other was the leading goalie in the BCHL Marc Cheverie from Nanaimo.Maybe we will here about some verbals before too long ???

  10. I think you keep Spirko-Zajac-Stafford together and make a mirror image line in Porter-Toews-Duncan.Then you make an all freshman line of Kozek-Oshie-Watkins and Oshie stays in his natural position of center,Kozek the scorer and Watkins the speedster to cause havoc on the fore-check.The checking line of Fabian-Kaip-Prpic would be the checking line(Red Pepper grinder line).Defense pairings of Lee-Chorney Smaby-Finley Jones-Radke.The Toews line and Oshie line could be either 2nd or 3rd line on any given night
