The women's team is borderline on getting home ice for the NCAA playoffs. If they do, with the current nickname situation, they will forfeit the right to host and go on the road.
The WCHA playoffs do not matter. They will have home ice for the first round of that tourney.
Got it, thank you. I thought the NC$$ could be held here if they didn't wear Sioux jerseys which the don't? This stuff is getting so old and confusing, I wish it would all go away!

The UND men's team plays league playoff games at home, not NCAA playoff games. That's the difference.
Isn't the game we are talking about the WCHA playoff for women's hockey? Or don't they have a season ending tourny like the men's?

This is soooooo political! The new way to get things done in this society "scare them into doing what we want them to do"!
When I heard the womens hockey team may get home ice for playoffs and it would have to be on another site because of the name stuff, (which makes no sense, the mens team play home playoffs here?) I thought maybe it is time to move on without the name and let the tribes try and repair this for another later date.
Than they will be off the "hostile and abusive list" which will let them play these schools that now can't play them and the teams when the WCHA break apart to play them also, IT IS NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE CALLED THE FIGHTING SIOUX!! Its because of the list!!
But when they want to shut down a state wide vote, as to stop the voting process from doing what the voters want, and make it so the other people get what they want! (Like what already happened to the tribes)! I say no way! This is what caused all this to begin with, not letting the tribes vote! No way! Not me!
Also all this talk of recruiting being down because of the name is BS, IMO! Has there ever been a student/athlete that has said "I want to attend UND but with them being called the Fighting Sioux, I think I will pass"? Doubt it!
Also happon is spelled happen, just saying........

There is nowhere on this site that tells you you are NOT signed in! I sign in and check it to stay that way!
I go to a blog and write for along time, I'm not a great typer, I press submit and it says "you are not authorized to submit this, you must sign in"!!!!!
So I sign in and everything I just wrote is GONE!
Happens all the time! This time before submitting, I copied what I wrote, than of course it happened again and than I went to paste and the box to write in wouldn't let me paste!
I this me? Or is this a clitch?

Anyone see the first Sioux goal closely? We were on the other end of the rink, and I was sure someone (Sioux) was standing in the crease when the puck went out and back in to score. Tech coaches wanted a review, but even after discussion refs did NOT review it, just counted it. Any explanation why it as not waved off?
When the goalie is laying on the ice five feet from the net towards the corner, the Sioux player that WAS in the crease didn't interfer with the goalie or to hinder him from making a save! It really made MTU coaches and the player that jumped on the ice to get the officials attention look silly!
It was a lord farqewad (guazdekky) (sp?) moment!!

The white out picture is of Evan Trupp holding the trophy from two years ago, and that is the same image on the tickets this year! So yes the Sioux did carry it around, it was the year of the new trophy and I have several photos of them hoisting it! Last year they didn't touch it.

The last two years they are whited out, Sioux won! The third year back Denver won it and they are on the tickets, yes black and white but you can see the players face and their jersey!
I know this is useless but it bothers me and I vented!

I got mine today also and I am so sick of when the Sioux win that tourny or the league they are shown on the ticket whited out!!
Any other team wins, their photo with color and the full image is there!
Why? I have the last six years of tickets saved!!!

He is talking about WCHA standings, not rankings. If the Gopher's would have swept Denver, and UND swept UMD, then UND would have surpassed Denver in the WCHA standings. Same for next week, BSU is only 3 points behind UND, so the Gopher's need to win to ensure that they stay behind us in the standings if we don't win.

That statement says more than WCHA!
If Sioux win and take care of business than it doesn't matter what BSU does, they can't catch them!
Also being ahead of Denver in let's say 3rd, how is that any better than 4-6th on WCHA? Home ice is the goal, all them positions get home ice. I would think the most important thing right now is making the big show, and that was what I was addressing!
To other poster explaining the 1-3 record to the gophers I understand and thanks, but if Denver beat them, and the Sioux beat Denver, than what's the difference? That's where I'm not getting the rankings, it seems very confusing!

Why is the winning of the gophers so important to the Siouxs ranking? That makes no sense to me!
If the gophs lose two to Denver and the Sioux take one or two from Denver how would the ranking be any different if the gophs would have won? Doesn't it make Denver look stronger and if Sioux beat em that would make the Sioux look stronger? Please explain.....

I smelled a sweep but it didn't happen! We all hoped for a split, so I say a victorious weekend for the boys, just stay on track with the game plan and this year could surprise a lot of people!

I can't believe in this day an age, when something is on tv in an area, we should be able to get the feed some where else! Charge for it, I wouldn't bat an eye, or an Internet feed from UMD even!

Don't get me started on the seats. Some are at the bar, some are up by the railing and others are just MIA. It is made worse by the stupid gold seats.
You see the Ralph does this also, they are called standing room only! They sell out also, with the seats full, which is fun but I can't get a drink in the bar because they are full because of the "standing room only" tickets that were sold, nice try!

I can't believe the reigning national champs at home against the leagues reigning champs and they can't fill the seats! I was excited when I first heard the dawgs were part of the NCHC but I don't know if they have it in their fan base to be in an elite league? Kind of a let down for me! I'm not a dawg fan, but I do want all the teams in the NCHC to seem like they have a rabid fan base, like UND of course!!

Wilbur you say "Eidness was lucky" like it is not normal for a goalie to catch some breaks? The plays he could have been scored on and replays show he stopped it looking like the Tanzmanian Devil was what declared his play this weekend outstanding, IMO! This weekend made me feel even better about the boys and their chances to make some noise next month!
