What do Fargo Force playoff final tickets cost? Pardon my ignorance and lack of using the internet correctly this morning.

    Lmk all - thx!

    $10 not including Ticketmaster fees.

Howard is a pretty obvious answer. Wodon claims he was expecting Persson to transfer to UND since January, so maybe he heard about something around that time.

He just assumed UND was going to get a transfer goalie and picked Persson as the likely choice. Lucky guess is all.

Him and Duluth media types have made it their entire personality to make cheap shots at UND’s use of the transfer portal.

Can I support aggressively going after a portal entrant? Yes.
    Can I support tampering? No.

It's a pretty simple, clean line that I hope Berry and his staff are smart enough to not cross.

None of the transfers UND has gotten this spring scream tampering. We had to recruit all of them. Most of the time I was told of a target, they didn’t commit to UND hours after going into the portal or anything. Most of them took a while to commit.

I know Bemidji fans accused Berry of tampering with Driscoll but that’s probably just angry fans complaining.

So what does this mean, and how does this affect them and college hockey?

Well now they aren’t restricted by Hockey Canada rules. Players can’t play out of their home province until they finish high school under Hockey Canada rules so now they can get players from wherever they want.

The NCAA really needs to amend the portal rules to not let it be a "free for all".  That's just going to end up hurting the smaller schools more and more as the "big" schools pluck talented players from their rosters...like a feeder system.

It'll be good once the 5th year "free" year is done, as that will make for less portal entrants.  Is next year the last year for that?  Or two more years?

Next year’s seniors are the last class that can get the free 5th year.

McMahon has words on Alex Young in the portal.
Anyone a subscriber and want to give a recap (no copy/paste).

    https://www.collegehockeyinsider.com/p/296-colgates-young-enters-the-transfer?sd=pf

He basically said Young has a Do Not Contact listed next to his name in the portal. So either he already knows where he is going or he wants to be the one to contact schools he’s interested in.

He also said it may just be a precaution depending on who Colgate’s new coach is. But normally Do Not Contact means the player already knows their destination.

I don't see Western being married to Miami as far as following whatever move the Red Hawks make.  If anything they've grown as a program after the move to the NCHC, and have gotten some elite kids into Kalamazoo.  To me the CCHA would be a step back for them, but a move that makes sense for Miami.

I think the fact that Western would be all over there in the Eastern time zone by themselves without another conference school nearby would be an issue at some point. Miami gives them at least one bus trip. Take that away and who knows how long they last. Competitively they’re fine in the NCHC but I don’t know that there wouldn’t be other factors at play if they decided to make a move.

Is that official that he's heading to SCSU?
It certainly wouldn't surprise me, I just haven't seen it posted anywhere.
Agreed though, best of luck to him and Costantini...just not when we play them.  :)

Schlossman had alluded to it happening on his podcast a couple days ago so I wasn’t too surprised.

A purple Mavs fan posted this over at USCHO. Not hard to figure out they're most likely referring to McLaughlin and James since their new HC was the HC for Sioux City when those two were there. Seems like wishful thinking. Both players are looking at increased roles on the team for the 23-24 season as sophomores.

lol that’s actually hilarious if they think that.

I agree with cberkas. There is nothing to gain by playing Bemidji every year. If we lose, it is a pairwise killer because they are rarely a top 25 team. If we win, it does not help. It is always a tough game because they play the Jacques Lemaire trap style game that makes it difficult to score more than 2 goals. It is also painful hockey to watch. I already dislike the way UMD plays, but at least they have some high end skill.

Bemidji is not a Pairwise killer. A PWR killer is losing twice to the team ranked dead last. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Bemidji ranked in the bottom half of the PWR in recent years. They’re always in the 20s or lurking around there.

I'm glad we schedule them.   First and foremost, as a recruiting tool.  The Ralph kinda sells itself. Second, its an exhibition game that doesn't count in PWR so its "extra".

I don’t really think it’s much of a recruiting tool scheduling the U18 team at this point. Pretty much all their players are already committed to schools by the time we play them so I just don’t think it does much on that front.

I do think it’s a good game to schedule coming out of the Christmas break though to shake some rust off and try some new things and see how they go.

Why wouldn’t UND recruit him?  Seems like an odd thing to say.

Considering it just said in the Herald article he picked UND over Duluth, and how he liked the coaching staff and how they treated his family, it is pretty clear we were recruiting him. We didn’t just snap our fingers to make it happen.

Anywhere else and the kid goes NTDP, but like you said....something about Warroad makes em stay.

Will get some decent competition, but obviously not like a schedule the U18 plays.

According to the Herald, he’s going to try to play some USHL games before and after the high school season next year. I thought Chicago had his rights but apparently no USHL team has his rights at the moment.

...but in his interview last month he said his favorite college team was the Bulldogs, so I think it is a good thing Berry clinched this deal, as lately guys like Roth and Shaugabay have turned Warroad into somewhat of a neutral ground.   Needed to get a foothold back in there.

I originally watched the video where he said his favorite team was Duluth a couple months ago and definitely thought he was heading there when I watched it at first, but after rewatching it, he did hesitate when he answered that question so I think Duluth probably wasn’t a definitive favorite at the time. Lots of kids do like a bunch of teams.

Agreed. With Zmolek coming off an injury, I'm hoping for a 5th year RH shot for that last slot.

    Pyke - Pehrson

    Wiebe - Zmolek

    Livanavage / Benoit - _______

    Livanavage / Benoit (7th spot)

    Komazk (8th spot)

In my ideal situation, you have the extra skater as one of the FR d-man.

Next off-season you replace the three 5th year guys with Freshman (Strathmann, McInnis and hopefully Hensler).

McInnis has played 9 junior hockey games so I wouldn’t pencil him in with that group yet. Probably depends on how next season goes for him.

I guess I wasn’t saying that to bash Albrecht. I was just saying to the other poster that he does not have 2 years remaining like the others. This is his final year no matter what. Sorry.

He does have 2 years left though. Schlossman already said so. Albrecht didn’t play in any games as a freshman so that year didn’t count. His sophomore year was the Covid season that didn’t count for anyone. So he does in fact have 2 years of eligibility left if he wants to use both.
