  1. ??? This is me clapping for your post, you just cant see my hands. (Where does PCM get all those cool emoctions? We need more on here.)

I totally agree with your post, many athletes come here and have proven themselves in another sport, just not the one they have signed for. It's nice to know what else they have excelled in.

  2. Like this?

Our father who art in hockey, hallowed by thy game. Thy draftday come, our stars be gone, be they in Chicago or St. Louis or St. Paul. Give us another year of our young skaters, and protect us from agents and contracts and gms. Lead them not into pro hockey leagues; deliver them from the dotted line. For they are our power, our future and our eighth banner, this year or the next. Amen.

Lets all take a minute to learn this and say it everynight before bedtime.

mikejm, great job, you will go the heaven for this! ???

  3. The kids are smart! Glad to see that they (or some) take their studies to heart. Life after school is over isn't always peachy, and the education they are getting is very important to the years ahead of them.

  4. Todays youth will likely look back upon their sense of style similar to my generation and "parachute pants".

Fortunately, my family was to poor to afford such luxury items...nothing but Wranglers!

    Parachute pants - EEEWWWWW!

    Wranglers = YEEEE HAAAAWWWW! :lol:???

  5. Hey I provided a new post! :0 The students won't move this year, next year or ever. So lets argue about whether students should be allowed to stand and swear or not. :silly:

Stand all you want. I think it adds more excitement to the game. I usually end up on the edge of my seat, but if I stood, the people behind me would get mad. I went to a game in WI against the Badgers a couple of years ago. Their student section stood the whole game and did a ton of cheering and with the band there it made it all the better. They have an awesome student section.

  6. The difference though here is that your house is your property, that you own. I may upset some when I say this, and correct me if I am wrong but when you purchase season tickets, it is if you are renting the seat for the year. So you don't own the seat or the space. I don't understand why the Ralph does not take control of the situation and make the move for the better of most involved. Again, I do not want to upset anyone by stating the above but this is just how I see it.

Yes, I do pay rent on my seat, and the rent is high. Students do not pay the same rent as I do. Yes, they pay tuition, but in my case there, too, I'm paying that as well. Money talks, and it talks loud.

    Just my opinion though. :silly:

  7. I knew there was an age difference there, but, I was getting info from a teen with a short attention span! I really don't know for sure what kind of a pic he was talking about, but "team picture" and "Brian Lee" were in the same sentence. :silly:

  8. Sry, I meant that sarcastically. I should have put a smiley after it.

And if you don't like them because of a basketball game then go for it. :silly: That I understand. My brother's team was 26-0 before losing to MPC-G in 1997 in the championship. That is Mayville, Portland, Clifford, Galesburg, for those of you who didn't know.

MPCG usually has good teams. Good coach, too. What team did your bro play for?

  9. I gave 20 bucks (and spent another 50 on food and beer) to our waiter just to defend the ONE tv in the corner of the bar so we could watch Game 5. I've been to a bar where they turned off the one tv with hockey to match the other 20 tvs with the Sox. Another reason I dislike Chicago. Another reason to hate baseball. And basketball....

    Huge sigh....

My son went through the same thing during the regional games prior to the FF. He lived in Boise and found 1 bar that would turn a TV to hockey instead of college BB. He did manage to meet a few people that did become more interested in hockey than BB.

  10. ACF1: "AC" for America's Cup sailboat racing. F1: for Formula One auto racing.

I think I will leave it. Pretty much every time I hear the National Anthem I think of the Sioux.

Good choice. After watching this final series, I will think of the games in Edmonton when both of the Anthems were sung. Such passion from the crowd went into singing those. I get the chills when I think of it. I noticed tonight that Carolina returned the favour to Edmonton, by singing along with O Canada.

  11. OK everybody. Hockey is over for the season. :silly:

Congrats to the Commie and the Canes on their win, and congrats to the Greene and the Oilers for putting up one hell of a fight.

BUT...look forward to the Fighting Sioux season, and all the fun to be had in the suite. Anyone else out there wanting to join us?

  12. Me: Is it possible for you to turn one of your TV's to the hockey game?

ATLESPNSportsZone Waitress: Turn it to what?

    Me: The college hockey game.

    ATLESPNSportsZone Waitress: Who's playing?

    Me: BC and the Sioux.

ATLESPNSportsZone Waitress: (Long Pause with Blank Stare)

Me: Can I speak to your manager?

Manager: I'm the manager. What game you trying to watch?

    Me: College hockey. On EPSN2.

Manager: I dont think thats programmed to be on any of the TVs tonight.

Me: That's super. I just need you to turn one of these 50 TVs from the baskeball game to the hockey game.

Manager: I cant do that. Our headquarters controls which channnels are on each TV.

Me: What about that TV with figure skating or the one with weightlifting. Can you change those?

    Manager: No. Sorry.

    Me: You're an idiot.

    Manager: Excuse me?

Me: I said I have to sneeze. We are done with this table. We're going to take our $200 and give it to the sports bar across the street.

Mr. Siouxmama and I went through the same thing in Las Vegas in 2001 (?) when the UND football team was playing for the national title in Alabama. Not even the Imperial Palace knew anything about the game. We ended up buying off sale and going back to our room to watch it.

  13. Does me a lot of good in Tennessee!!! :0

Close your eyes and I'll give you a good visual.

There is a BIG guy with BIG RED HAIR (gotta love those fellow redheads) wearing a red jersey with the #22 on it. Someone hands him a beautiful silver trophy, he holds it overs his head and brings it down to give it the ceremonial kiss, pumps it in the air a couple of times and then hands it off to the next teammate. A beautiful sight.
