  1. In order to build an epic team the objective is not to seek out players who love to win (lots of these type are available and they are mostly soft) but rather select a team comprised of players who have a visceral hatred of losing .... The level of talent needs to be varied (lunch buckets with finesse players) thus reducing systematic weaknesses and coupled with coaches who will sit anyone who holds themselves above full sacrifice - no matter what the circumstances. Crossing our blue line should instill fear in our advisories. We have never followed (playing style) ... We have always dictated terms. This is the North Dakota way .....

  2. Cartwright - pop about 300 (on a good day)

Cartwright has produced over 50 Junior A players

over the last 30 years (a couple of Junior Natioanl Champs)

, a (Major Junior) Memorial Cup Champion and 3 NCAA level

players (Sioux, Michigan State and Maine) - one NCAA champion.

Town lives for hockey (I know I grew up there and played for the Sioux)

  3. He should call his son more often. Cause his son seems to know more about college hockey than he does. :D

Is Bob Norton like the Doug Woog of the east??

Is Bob Norton like the Doug Woog of the east?

That would be an insult to Woog - he knows something about hockey.

  4. Don't worry I always calll in Erwin.

Best you just quit that work stuff. It's a bad habit, the best way to quit a bad habit is to not start!

That's fine with me ... Erwin (Ryan's uncle) - member 1980 NCAA Champions ... Chorney, Lamoureux

and Martens the next generation!! :D

  5. Where did the playing time minutes come from ? Is this your estimate ? This can't be actual numbers since everyones % is in 5% increments.

If this is not actual numbers then please explain what value this is ? Even if you used actual numbers it counts all playing time the same (even strength, power play, penalty kill), therefore I can't see anything useful in this.

Like any performance measure (including those used outside sports) - the idea is get a sense of the player's level of consistent contribution. Ice time % is an average over the season (some games more and some less). Clearly the coaching staff has the best stats on exact game specific times - the times are approximations over the year. Change the numbers and re-run the analysis if the numbers don't seem right.

The idea is measure approximate ice time and what was the average contribution per player during that ice time.

  6. Here is a look at 2006/2007

Games played x 60 min = Max Min

Game Time = % on ice

Actual Playing Time = Max Min x Game Time(%)

Pts per Time = Total Points / Actual Playing Time

    Rank

    2006/2007

Max Game Actual Pts per Rank
