  2. He has come a long way since his interview between periods at the Ralph a few years ago or whenever that was.

Rutherford, Blues beat writer, said on his podcast today that the turning point was later that year when he missed a practice and was suspended. Veterans took him aside and got him on the path to being a professional.

  3. Here are probable line combos for tomorrow courtesy of the united states of hockey blog. there's been a lot of talk here in the Cities about how Parise's game doesn't translate to the olympic sheet where he's not as effective. I think most of it has been that stiff, Callahan, on his line for those games. I look for Zach to be a big performer from here on out, he's just too good to be quiet for long. I like what i see below for the lineup. Go USA!

James van Riemsdyk – Joe Pavelski – Phil Kessel

Zach Parise – Ryan Kesler – Patrick Kane

Dustin Brown – David Backes – Ryan Callahan

Max Pacioretty – Paul Stastny – T.J. Oshie

    Ryan Suter – Ryan McDonagh

    Cam Fowler – Kevin Shattenkirk

    Brooks Orpik – Paul Martin

  4. 1. Steve Johnson: proven winner.

    2. Mike Guentzel: brought the Gophers back.

    3. Cary Eades: funny how UND's slide co-responded to his departure.

Argue all you want that none have head coaching experience at the college level. Neither did Hak for that matter. Hak's biggest mistake was getting rid of Eades.

    1. Johnson- i can listen but you better check his "systems" to make sure he doesn't incorporate dump and chase style.

    2. Guentzel- hahhaaaa no way in hell would he ever take the job. He's going to be the next Gopher coach.

    3. Eades- the best choice but there has to be something to him being let go on this staff.

  5. I suppose you will next tell us that #1 is in no way, shape or form the fault of Hakstol and his staff?

And then you will tell us that Hakstol and his staff are not at fault for refusing to make in-game adjustments to deal with #2?

Number one has become a major problem in recent years. Number two has been pointed out by others on this forum.

But I suppose the standard answer will be the same as it always is.....

"In Hak we trust....No Matter What!!!" :silly:

Where have i ever been a Hak apologist? I guess just because i throw out some truth to the situation, you lump me in with your opinion of fans that are blind. Your constant spew on this topic is growing tired. You don't like the answers but yet you keep asking the same questions. 1. of course the coach shares responsibility but so do the CHL/NHL departures of players slated to be on the roster that have hurt this team. Systems aren't the problem with this team, it's the talent. #2. adjustments/systems are the reason multiple UNO guys were left by themselves out in front of the net or odd man rushes against? Did you call for Blais' head after the 2001-02 season? Because that team sucked. Or was it graduation, departures, recruiting lapse? 3. Curious as to who you think should be the next coach to lead this team. Give me 3 realistic names and why.

  6. Don't care who the head coach is just want them to play a different style , dump and chase and the grinding it out is not very enjoying to watch.

    1. this team isn't skilled enough to carry the puck in like in years past. 2. UNO stacked guys at the blueline forcing them to dump. UNO had a plethora of odd man rushes from turning UND over just inside the blueline.

  7. Bemidji always plays hard and gives UND a game every time they meet. Factor in UND's lack of goal scoring this year and this weekend could be a treat for fans that like 1-0, 2-1 games. Although the games may be snoozers in my opinion, it's critical that UND does just enough to win both and they should.

2-1 UND in OT Friday / 4-2 UND Saturday at Home.

    Get the Sweep Boys!

  8. Yes...the youngest player on a overall bad team. He is though IMO their best skilled offensive player. Good hands, vision and skates OK. Going to Force game again Friday.

Thanks for the report. i attended a South game at Scheels around new years and really liked the rink.
