We have one 5 minutes from our house and never go there.
We do have a couple of places in Pensacola we love. One is the Fish House, which I'm sure would be a difficult proposition, since Grand Forks isn't really near a lot of fresh seafood and the other is the Angus Steakhouse. Not chains, but great food and service.
i dont like the food, but the Cranberry grape Limeade is delicious on a warm day.

I would love to see a Capriotti's here or a real Mexican taco stand or a good Vietnamese restaurant open. Something like these:

i dont care for tom dennis. however, i do agree w/ his position. I was at the UND gala event saturday night. I overheard a conversation that included Dr. Kelly, the fundraiser had mentioned that most donors are just sick of the conflict and want resolution yay or nay. Dr. Kelley said he felt the same way.
Im over it as well. Does it suck, yeah. So does obamacare, parts of the patriot act, and no child left behind. There ARE more important issues to work on. Start the healing.
Flame away!

It seems to be related to Facebook --
Discussion of it on Facebook:
http://forum.developers.facebook.net/viewtopic.php?pid=312579
Facebook bug report:
http://bugs.developers.facebook.net/show_bug.cgi?id=14971
Google "bootloader_Zvucx" and it seems quite widespread (affecting a lot of sites and other software that integrates w/Facebook, e.g. vBulletin).
I'll see if I can turn off the Facebook integration until we can find out more about it.
Seems to be working now Jim, thanks.

A new library? What is this the 70's? They are dying like newspapers.
Why would anyone ever need a library? To use a computer thats about all I can think of.
To do research? Every school in Grand Forks has a library: Lewis and Clark elementary to Central High School. Anyone can use the UND library student or not.
You wanna read a book, go guy it.
It losses $2,000,000 of taxpayer money every year and we complain about the Alerus Center?!
Raise everyones taxes for a small amount of people that will use it? No thanks!
The Grand Forks Wellness Center is going to be free to use like the library right?
Bingo.
If 10 % of the city/county used the library, the parking would have to be absurd.
We dont need to subsidize reading cause people are cheap. Most that use the library can certainly afford it. Get in a book club, they exchange books constantly.
BTW, my property taxes went up 500 dollars this year. Sure they went down last year, but this is a what have you done for me lately situation.
Im pumped for the wellness center, can i get a membership for 50 cents there?

Ive been getting popups on the forums today. I click to download it and i get a code that copies to my notepad that looks something like this:
.app_content_51546247891 a.uiLinkSubtle { display: none; }
.app_content_51546247891 a.UIImageBlock_ICON_Image { display: none; }
#bootloader_Zvucx { height: 42px; }
Thoughts?

so your lineup leaves out hill(d-f), gleason(d-f), bruneteau(f) and rodwell(f) and davidson (f)
if they roll a standard 12 (f) , 6(d) and 2 (g) i can see a major battle between rod/brun/davidson/gleason
did gleason play any forward last night?? anyone know? if not he could be the odd man out in both spots
4bort was very very good for his first college game. he will see pp time. he also stuck up for lapoint when he got checked from behind as did every sioux player on the ice, loved seeing that from the freshman.
nelson was solid. (9 for 10 in face offs!) he has great hands as he showed that a couple times during the game and i saw him lay a nice hit
cichy played good minutes and played on the pp which is a great sign
i cant remember the last time hak rolled 7 d men if he even has at all on purpose. that being said i can see it happening with the talent of simpson and the depth the sioux have at forward. if it doesnt work like that i expect a few d men to switch out fri and sat to play dillon and others. kristo with nelson could be dangerous for other teams and i believe knight is going to break out this year.
great stat on nelson, i wouldnt have expected that. I thought he looked slow and uneasy when i was watching him. Simpson certainly looked like a rookie on D. Forbort looked great.

I started a new Alerus topic because the last one was labeled "Alerus Center Posts a Profit". Time has revealed this to be untrue; search "secret subsidies".
So, any interest in an Alerus Center discussion? The property appears to be at an all time low, if that's possible. The arena side is virtually closed with barely any dates on the books. And, contrary to Herald reports, the convention side performance is miserable, also. The Alerus Commission and City Council refuse to accept that, under its current operating structure, it is a major failure. The future and operations of the center need to be retooled to realize any success.
Why are the commission and council so averse to changes?
What would a retooling look like?
A search of my prior posts under the "Profit" thread will reveal I've proposed changes and am simply not a "naysayer".
Ironically, I believe The Alerus can turn things around for the better by structuring the center similar to how the old Civic Auditorium was structured.
It simple terms, The Alerus is structured and operated under the assumption that it exists in a much larger market. This is at the heart of the failure. It has been almost 10 years of failure, time to try something else. Does anyone agree?
Is The Alerus Center so averse to change because the small handful of Alerus supporters that conceived of the failed development would have to admit failure?
The Alerus is there and not going away. Time to structure and scale its operating plan to the market, not the previously mentioned pretend market.
Any thoughts?
I think you need to find something else to worry about.
Just my thoughts.

I would still rather UND be in the Big Sky. I think it closer to the concentrations of the fan base, that is outside of ND and MN.
This has me scratching me head.

Exactly.
disagree.
Im in the same boat as trex.
No, im neither antinickname nor liberal.
Just disinterested anymore.

I chalk it up to the message board effect: a bunch of people with an agenda, using the anonymity of the internet to vent their frustrations and blow something way out of proportion.

Anybody know why Watkins wasn't there?
He will miss 2 games at the begining of the year.

We must be mind readers cause I was thinking the exact same thing. Even if he had lost, he's beaten Iowa and Iowa St. the last 3 years. They'll talk to Jake.
By the way, Northern Iowa will be in the game with Kansas today. The word throttled won't come up.
Summitforever guy makes 11 posts here and number 11 is a real stinker. Wanna put down ex-Sioux, #12 better improve!!
betcha he gets an offer after that one.!!!!!!!
