The Olive Ann is new right? When did that get finished/open up?

Anybody stay there or know anybody that has?

Opened last weekend but grand opening is next week I believe. They’ll have a Crisp and Green and some type of coffee place on the main floor below Skies.

NDSU made the semis last year and had a ton of guys transferred out.

JMU is having an amazing year and has a ton of guys in the portal.

JMU’s coach went to Indiana and is rumored to be bringing most of his coaches with him.  I’m sure that also impacted the portal for JMU.

I wonder if he may end up back at his original commitment, Ashland University. Grand Valley State always comes to mind too just because I’m familiar with them from the D2 days, no longer know anything haha.

That’s my guess. Wants to play close to home and will play at a lower level.

Speaking of non conference games I see the Bison have a game coming up with Oak Hills Christian college from beltrami county Minnesota.

Oak Hills has some of the following results this season

Lost to Rockford University of Illinois by 53

Lost to Bemidji State by 81

Lost to Valley City State by 63

The played a little tournament in Dickinson over the weekend and lost by 72 to Dickinson State and in the rematch with VCSU they managed to keep the deficit under 100 as they lost by 92.

Yeah, not really sure what either team gets from scheduling a game like this. Looking at their roster, their tallest player is 6’6”.  I can’t imagine NDSU even plays their starters in this one.

has there ever been a trophy for this game?

i said earlier that a traveling trophy for the bizon game needs to get done and it needs to go from fargo/gf to hillsboro by boat on the red if the red is open, feet if slushy, and snowmobile if it's frozen...

i saw that wyoming and csu walk / run the bronze shoe from laramie to fort collins each game...

Yes, the Sitting Bull trophy. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitting_Bull_Trophy

He has averaged 20.1 mpg in his career. 26.3 mpg last year... that will not change this season, IMO.

Where do you see Mara fitting?  You didn’t list him in your 8 players who will get significant minutes.

Correct, we all understand that shooting is probably going to cost UND a couple games this year because there will be nights where they go 5-25 from 3. Where I think they will be better is scoring in transition and in the paint. Noone is arguing with you that shooting is a concern, because it is.

Brady will play 20+ minutes a night, not because of his shooting or lack of shooting. He has a great feel on the court, he makes a ton of hustle plays, he makes the right play most of the time, and is no question the leader of this team.

So yes, UND isn't going to play like they did last year where they hucked up 35+ 3's a night... they're going to have to run more and attack the basket in the full court and the half court and the 30% 3 point shooters are going to have to kick a few wide open 3's in a game.

My guess is you see these 8 a lot assuming Tyree is ineligible

    Eli

    Brady

    Treysen

    BJ

    Elijah

    Deng

    T

    Amar

It will be important for Trey to continue to shoot at a high percentage and the floor should open up if T can continue to pull 5's out.

I’d think that Mambourou Mara should see significant minutes.
Brady should be a 10-12 minute guy.  Bring energy and hustle when the team needs it.

Usually watch on ESPN plus but meeting some fellow UND alum up in the cities on Saturday.  Any advice on a good sports bar/restaurant to watch the game at?

If you’re in the north metro, this place plans to show the game. They are located in Blaine…near the soccer fields/National sports center.  60 self pour taps! :0

W suppose we should be going for sdsu vs Montana state

Seems like I am sort of favoring msu

Always go for MVFC when they are playing out of conference. Unless it’s the Bison…then always gif or the team they are playing against.

So years ago we had to drop our Indian nickname because if was offensive to White Liberals Indians I guess........so we've moved to the Fighting Hawks.

Even though our new nickname has no ethnic ties I think honoring the Irish roots of our area with some sort of Irish music for our walkup would be fantastic....Not saying it has to be House of Pain or the Dropkick Murphy's....although i wouldn't be against it.....but if we do let's do it a little different. I was biking thru Lincoln Park a few years ago by the south pedestrian bridge and i came across a single man playing the bagpipe near dusk...all by himself...coolest thing ever.  So, if we do something "Irish" could be get a few bagpipers to lead the guys onto the field in kilts and irish regalia?  Some could be on the field where they run out...a few on the catwalks....a few around the concourse....the starting of the bagpipes would let the fans know that the guys are about to run onto the field...maybe mix a few Irish flags in with our 701 flags?

The playing of the Bagpipe was banned in Scotland after the uprising of 1745. They were classified as an instrument of war by the loyalist government. They were kept alive in secret. Anyone caught carrying pipes were punished, the same as any man that bore arms for Bonnie Prince Charlie.

    Just a thought....

I like the bagpipes and all, but there’s another team that uses that moniker and the ND moniker. Should probably stay away from anything Irish.

  11. They were swept by Kennesaw St this morning. First game was close at 35-33.  The other two, not so much. Was hoping for a win in this one.  Hopefully bounce back against MSU tonight. We lost to them last year in GF.

Thanks. I’m a bit too old for instagram. It appears he’s not very active there, from what I can tell. I’m not much of a twitter person either, but again, It appears he hasn’t posted there in over a year.
