I think you've got to split up 17 and 9 on the PP because both of them are guys you'd want to be the focal point.

I'd go: 22(L)-28(L)-9(R)-18(R)-7 (L)with 28 my net front guy, and 7 operating up top with 9 on his off wing wall.

Other unit: 17(R), 26 (L), 14(L), 27(R) 4 (L) with 27 as my net front.  Put 17 in his Duncan spot and work an overload concept with 4 and 17 and let 4 use his bomb of a shot if teams over play 17.  I think having 14 on that off wing wall in give and go looks with 17 would give teams fits as well.

I was thinking the same thing last night. There’s only one puck out there and both 17 & 9 seem to demand it.

    You win by buying talent.

I would like to think it’s not as much about “buying” the talent but providing them with a clear understanding that they will be “coached up” and develop during their time here.

This is revisionist history. The program regained prominence under Blais and even he had great teams that bowed out of the NCAAs early. Getting to the Frozen Four is fun, but ultimately the Hak era is the Buffalo Bill's period in terms of NCAA performance with plenty of heartbreaking losses and a Red Sox like cursed feeling. And i might be in the minority but I definitely value regular season titles higher the final five/frozen faceoff  the fact that we hang banners for them would indicate the program does as well. This year has been a disappointing one but to ignore and diminish the success of the previous 3 seasons is pretty short sighted.

Where did I revise history?  I answered the question posed and gave an opinion about what I thought was more exciting to the fan base…conference championships or regular season titles.  Did the program not ascend to another level with the fan base under Hakstol?

I was at most of the games at the end of the Gino years thanks to free tickets people had trouble giving away so I’m fully aware of what Blais did to resurrect the program.  He’s a legend.  Untouchable.  I eventually forgave him for the horrible drive home from Madison in 1999.

Given the caliber of DU - I for one am proud of this team.

We could’ve won both games but for some stupid reffing and dumb plays.  Take 60 seconds out of last nights game and the 5’s out of tonight’s game and we sweep DU.  It’s time to finish strong.  This was a real measure of competition and we competed.  That’s promising.

    Let’s go Sioux!

Yeah, take 60 bad rivets out if the Titanic and she would’ve made it across the Atlantic!
