BSU is 3-1 since they played UND.
QU is 2-0-1 since they played UND.
    PSU is now 6-1.

Both BSU and QU will do well in their respective leagues.  Getting to OT in game 2 against BSU and getting the split against QU will be boosts to the PWR if UND can win enough games to make it into the tourney.

QU beat Holy cross, then went to OT with AIC two nights in a row, coming away with 1 win. Doesn’t exactly reek top tier team.

BSU has had 1 goal games (wins and losses) with Bowling Green x2 and Northern Michigan x2. Again doesn’t exactly reek top tier. That along with them being swept by UMD earlier this year should be a good indicator that UND is more on par with mid-level WCHA than mid or top tier NCHC.

lasly let’s take a look at that Penn state 6-1. Their lone loss? 4-1 ass kicking from canisus. Woof. Their 5 wins? Canisus, Niagara, and Long Island U. Just elite competition on that schedule!

I hate to compare scores honestly, but so far there’s a bad theme.

I liked Cary Eades over Hak when Hak was hired but I like Berry.  He needs to crack the whip more I feel but he is a good coach imo.  Berry regardless if it was a Hak recruited team got them over the hump in his first year.  Heck Blais who is an Icon only won one more natty than Berry.

They had long successfully runs with consistently good teams year after year. Berry has missed the NCAAs nearly as many as he’s made it and has broken all sorts of not so good records in his wake.  They built teams up as the season went on, Berry breaks them down.

1 natty or not, on a development and consistently level he’s not even close to Blais or Hak IMO. His body language alone reeks uncomfortable and unfit

  3. Same crap different year. Decently talented freshman groups getting plagued by poor S&C and bad coaching who progressively degrade as their competitors get better. Saw it with Santiago, studsrud, Ketteringham, countless OL, and now Siegel, Tommy, Magg and Holmes etc.

It’s truly a rare exception for anyone on Bubba’s teams to stay healthy and to consistently get better year after year and develop into a legitimate NFL prospect. I do however consistently see raw talent with phenomenal freshman and sophomore years fizzle out and turn out subpar or hurt more than healthy than disappear. Appears guys like Magg and likely Otis on entering that same path.

Inconsistent years with up and down records just enough to keep Bubba around have been a curse for this program. Just good enough some years to keep him around but just bad enough to kill the fan base and keep them as a bottom dweller program. Tough to be a proud supportive fan with this team anymore.

So what's the answer take up a collection to get Hak back?  Just kidding i think Berry is ok but he needs to take on the role of strict disciplinarian now and make this team understand this is not acceptable.  A little skate anyone.

I’d say push Berry out and give Jackson a shot. He seems like he has the demeanor to be a HC unlike Berry

That song and dance we always hear about we get every teams best is getting old.  It's like we just lost to a suck hole B 10 team but hey you don't understand we are UND and we get everyone's best game so it's ok if we suck.  I just don't buy it.

Not sure what you’re getting at. I’m saying those teams aren’t actually good judging by how they’ve performed since playing und. Which is the same side of the argument you’re on lol

Three things for certain..taxes, death, and UND hockey fans overreaction after any loss. It's a long season, still plenty of games to go.

For me it’s been a build up to this point and tonight’s performance just solidified all my concerns. Weak forward group, poor goaltending, and a d corps leaning on one kid who’s going to have bad games every now and then. We all already know they’ll get out coached every single game so we have to focus on the players pretty hard. Additionally, brads teams have progressively gotten worse as the season has gone on, not better like the Hal era. People get that mixed up

Losing to a middle of pack B 10 team is not gonna be good for pairwise down the road.  Our body of work netter improve or we will be sitting home com national tourney time.  The argument can be made that Bemidji and Quinnipiac were quality opponents but I don't see Penn State as very good at all.  You just can't give up this many goals and expect to win games.

Go take a lookie how Bemidji and Quinipiac have done since playing UND. Those losses will hurt a lot too

Just got out of the CC game. Listening to the post game. Did they already interview Berry or no post game interview?

It was on the schedule but it appears they skipped it. I imagine Berry is a little preoccupied trying to spitball some excuses together before meeting up with all the alum after the game.

Forget UMD they aren’t even the best team in the league. Try St. Cloud State. Heck we are going to be lucky to even beat CC.

Yes it’s going to be a long season unfortunately

I thought they said we would hear from Berry? Guess he doesn’t want to talk about the showing tonight.

I’d rather hear from Jackson. He might actually have some solutions and some head coach characteristics

  11. Don’t worry…Bad man Boo Berry will pat them on the backs and tell them they tried hard but it’s not just about winning. We’ll get ‘em next time!

.500 at best and another missed NCAA. Not looking forward to watching these scared stringy kiddos getting curb stomped by UMD.

Just listened to the 360 game preview. Did not give me much hope.  We are just a couple injuries away from disaster.  However, They did echo a point made frequently here:  the crowd has to play role.

What are the injuries? A couple O line, Q at QB…what else on O?

Haas out for the year on D but I think they’re set otherwise?

alreeady have some lower areas around the stone arch bridge.....if this beach could be just south of the tennis courts facing west you would get some south sun and visibile from uni.....great idea....

College kids could use it for a full week each school year!!

but In all seriousness stuff like that might keep a few more college kids in town in the summer?

    What would Brown do?

Hand Crary 1.5M to convert it to an apartment complex. If that failed, then give Hugo’s 1.5M to post a big “coming soon” sign in the parking lot for 5 years. Then eventually pay Rydell 1M to use it as overflow parking.

Minot's zoo is better and you have the state fair.  Blue Elephant is pretty good.  That's about it though, sorry ;)

Good catch, Minot zoo is definitely nicer. Hockey rink situation is better…list ends there ha

    Could be.

Only two "cities" in the western part of the state, and Bismarck doesnt have that much of an advantage over Minot currently.

With Minot being closer to the (formerly?) growing oil patch to draw from.

Doesn’t have much of an advantage in terms of actual population or in terms of what? In my eyes Bismarck has a big advantage in essentially everything. Straight population is roughly 35% larger than minot, and MSAs would be an even larger gap. Quality of life and quality of…well everything seems much higher in bis too unfortunately.

Minot has made some strides with the downtown revamp, finally making some progress with schools and even a stabilizing population not relying entirely on oil-boom citizens. Not even in the same league as Bismarck or Fargo though IMO.

What are you even talking about?

GF didnt grow by 800 people the last 10 years.

I'm not sure if you're 12, bad at reading comprehension, or just trolling.

All estimates I’m seeing for both Grand Forks population and Grand Forks MSA are showing between 800-1200 growth from 2010-2020. In some cases it appears slightly less when updated with 2021 populations. What are you seeing if you believe me and essentially all online estimates appear to be incorrect in your opinion? I’m not sure if you’re just too old and senile to utilize online resources or if you just can’t read.

Official numbers should be released soon.

Doesnt the census release estimates every year or two?

Yes and the estimates tend to be very accurate in most cases. That’s why it’s alarming to see that ND grew by 107k people from 2010 to 2020 yet the 3rd largest city only grew by 800 people (listed estimate). Grand Forks hit a major slump for many reasons and just can’t seem to get out
