How many UND fans were in MSG?  The arena was half-full.

So 8,000 tickets at MSG isn't a recent and good look at history?

UND chose Orleans because there are significant costs associated with an event like this.  Costs that UND has to recover, especially with all of the budget issues surrounding UND.  As a fan, I'm disappointed UND didn't go for T-Mobile, but I completely understand why not the first time around.

You can make an argument about the costs associated w/ each arena, but the MSG argument is really, really dumb, if you think that number would translate to Vegas.

There was only 150 left for sale.  UND administration thought small and didn't get the NHL arena.  This will be the hardest ticket in UND history.  Could have easily sold 20,000 tickets.  15,000+ to UND and 5,000+ to MN.  Lost opportunity...shame on them for thinking small.  MN only has 200 seats for this game!

    UND thinking small? Never.

They just can't get our of their own way, ever.

It probably was a factor but it sure would have been good for Walters (and the program) if he would have used a redshirt year to gain strength and weight.  Similar situation as last year, it would have been beneficial for Collins to have another year to mature/develop.

Just think if they would have redshirt Q, he was a freshman on the Senior laden Huff squad. Would be really nice having him as a junior this year.

I think those are the 2 I would choose as well but really as long as the 2 come from the group of Simonson, Wilkie, Olson, or Hoff I'm fine with it. If everyone is healthy for Western Michigan I'd try a lineup of:
    Gersich-Jost-Boeser
    Smith-Gardner-Poganski
    Yon-Bowen-Gornall
    Janatuinen-Hoff-Olson

Change Wilkie for Olson and I really like these lines. This bye week is coming at a really good time. Get the team healthy, get Jost / JJ back and see what they can do.

Well, to be fair, he has 1 more NCAA title than a guy who can create TONS of his own opportunities...that Jonathan Toews guy.  Boeser must have done SOMETHING right in his career at UND, right?

You're the worst, are you Hajdu's twin? If people want to vent, let them vent.

It's the beginning of February and I've officially waved the white flag on the season. Did they get outplayed in their last two games? Not really, they just don't have it this year. Not much else to say. Some veterans really let the team down this year. I never would have thought you'd see Boeser, Poganski, Gardner and Ausmus play like they have.

I need to stop posting during games like the one last night. Still much too left of the season left to call it. Schlossman just posted about the next 3 games being key and could make or break their season. Let's get the W tonight, rest up, get Jost back and finish strong! Positives being they really haven't been that bad defensively, outside of ENG's, in the last two games they've only given up 1 legitimate, non-fluky goal. Just need to get a couple bounces for once.

  8. These guys are shockingly bad at putting the puck in the net, have they ever been shut out back to back? What's so frustrating is it's not like SCSU is skating circles around them, UND just can't seem to do anything right.

What worries me is if we think they are bad this year, just wait until next. They are going to be really, really bad.

So if you had a choice to cut 2-4 sports or cut just 1 sport to save the same amount of money, what is the more logical thing to do?

"The only sport that matters is Women's hockey, so clearly cut the 2-4 sports " Goon

I recall feeling very worried about our OL this time last year, turned out to be for good reason. Right now I am only slightly worried.

Correct, last year was rough at the beginning of the year (first 4 games or so). This upcoming year, I couldn't be more excited for the unit. No matter which way you slice it, you have 4 starters returning from a unit that gelled and played relatively well at the end of the year. Besides the 4 starters, you have 4 others that started at least a game. On top of that, you have a talented RS Freshman class (SFI guys said yesterday that Tobin / Nyguon will play next year for sure) and along with those 2, Tom Miller also said he's heard great things from Russo. Long story short, not only will they have experience next year, but depth also.
