  1. Oh woe, oh woe, Kelby didn't win the "Golden Arm" again. (roll eyes here)

He'll have to take solice in being the NCC (Co-) Offensive Player of the Week: 100+ passing, 100+ rushing, 100+ handing to Mahmoud, and a win in the State of SD.

I guess not every QB had that nice of a trip to SD last weekend.

  2. If you say it on a public airway you know someone is going to hear it. If you put it out there someone will recapture it, even in paraphrased form.

    Believing otherwise is naive.

The last thing I'd ever call Coach Blais is naive.

If he didn't want it out there, he wouldn't have said it.

  3. Sioux hockey fans (well, the under 40 crowd for sure and maybe more), you may see something strange, foreign to you, in the near future.

You'll see a Sioux jersey with number 12 (retired after the tragic death of Sioux All-American junior forward Terry Casey in 1966) on the ice for the Fighting Sioux.

A member of the womens team will be wearing 12.

To you that wear the jersey, and especially that jersey, make Terry proud.

  4. Sounds like Kelby Klosterman (throwing shoulder) may be out for the Bison game on Saturday.

Yeah, the Bison may have lost their last three (UC-Davis blew them out in CA, Augie got them in FargoDome, and USD got them in 4 OT in Vermillion), but I believe they are probably in "caged animal" mode right now. They need something to build on.

So how good is QB John Bowenkamp? Can he do the job? I've only seen him in mop-up jobs for Klosterman.

Will Chris Beatty be back so Riza Mahmoud won't have to carry the load all by himself? Where's Adam Roland for that matter? (Schwenzfeier got one carry last week. What's that say?)

    My prediction:

Both teams sell out to stop the run and dare the other to pass: Smash-mouth football like you've never seen it. Bring the extra face masks for the helmets and buy the aspirin bulk.

If Kelby were available I'd really like UND's chances. I'm not very confident with Bowenkamp or Joe "The Rifleman" Wilson at the helm. It's a tough spot for them to be thrown into (first start, on the road, at NDSU). Of course, the toughest steel comes out of the hottest fires (and that's your cliche for the week).

Will Shad Carney get any looks in practice this week? If he really is as good as touted when he was recruited why not have his coming out party now? :0

    Prediction: Bison by 2. :D

    Total Points: Under 34.

  5. Yes, McFeely loves to ruffle feathers, but no, he's far from a Sioux fan.

But I'm still waiting for someone to annouce that Mike McFeely is the newest member of ....

    The Vast Fighting Sioux Conspiracy

Welcome to the Inner Circle of Power

    :D

  6. I know he probably gets some ribbing (about the goalposts last season) ....

Any of us ever rib a guy for something like that? Ne-e-e-e-ver. ;)

So, do they call him "Notes" because of his last name or because of the musical tunes he seem to play off the net: p-ting, dong, tink! :D;):0

Someone should tell Jason about pro golfer Gary McCord's theory about hitting out from in the trees: He says he aims for the tree because that way he's sure he'll miss! He also says if he does hit it he can claim perfect aim! ;)

  7. I think it comes back to my point at the top -- your own insecurity about NDSU leads you to an irrational fear of UND and Grand Forks and causes you to embark on this propaganda campaign (that is fooling no one).

    To Jim's point:

    Check out http://www.ndsu.edu

A picture of a person with a stethoscope? (It was on 09/28/02 at least.) The Medical School is at UND. Why is NDSU portraying such an image? Could it be insecurity?

    Oops, more questions.

    It was this photo: http://www.ndsu.edu/images/main/majors2002....photo_main.jpg

  8. JBB:

    "Questions with questions?"

I used two question marks. I answered one of the questions for you. The other usage was more of a statement of disbelief than a question.

'jimdahl' asked two questions as well, but, functionally, the questions were the same. So, you've been asked one question and appear to be upset by it.

Have they stopped teaching grammar and critical reading skills at NDSU? Oops, sorry. That's another question.

  9. There is the big lie about not playing a D1AA NDSU while at the same time advertising on the AFCA site for D1AA football opponents. The deception in cost comparisons by using Michigan or the Gophers. The din about no opportunity for regional athletes. The talk about no conference affiliation. The insuation (or should I say hope) that NDSU coaches except Babich were against the move.

    Propaganda?

Minnesota and Montana ended last year with red numbers in the Athletic Department books.

Does NDSU have a conference yet? No.

Only Babich was at the press conference.

Those are all facts. Call them propaganda if you will.

  10. JBB: I'll bet you USD puts a hedge into their statement ("unless circumstances significantly change") into their statement just like UND did.

And you really need to learn how to capitalize. It proves you are either completely blinded with spite toward UND and Grand Forks or just plain uneducated. No uneducated people come out of NDSU now, do they?

And could it be that Wanless wants some new D-IAA teams, especially schools with smaller enrollments and revenue and population bases, so his is no longer the very bottom? :D
