Interesting story about parents coaching from the bench and the stands.

Grand Forks it is hockey. Phoenix it is baseball. Here is another link to a high school in Mesa and their baseball program.

I am not really sure what to think of this. I do find it sad though.

Not one of our recruits but I know we were talking about him during the Minnesota State High School tourney- Grant Besse will return to Benilde St. Margarets for his senior season. http://www.mnhockeyhub.com/news_article/show/143655

A good thing for high school hockey and love the quote from Besse "The thing that matters is just loyalty to the team. Before my freshman year I maybe wasn't as committed to the team, but after everything we've been through with Jack [Jablonski] and how close we've become, we're basically all brothers. I don't feel I could bring myself to let that go. I don't want to run off and play somewhere else and leave them hung out to dry."

I don't get all that nervous about guys who won't be here until 2014.

Agree, when we get to that point, it will be what it will be regardless anyway. All 3 of the '96 recruits so far all have interest from Major Juniors, so hopefully Hakstol ends up looking good rather that the alternative if the worst case should happen. Suffice it to say, that UND will probably have a little more notice in all of those circumstances than they did with Miller.

Dave Gust with the Force having another good night with a couple goals and 6 shots. Have heard good things about him, and have a feeling unless he is holding out for a specific offer, he could have a scholarship soon. Anybody know if he has had any offers yet? Could use a few more of the smallish players like Jack Connolly who are more likely to stick around a few more years.

I don't care if they're small. I care if they show up on campus...

The High Performance 16 and 17 Final 54's are this weekend at the Plymouth Ice Center. This is to decide who goes to the national tournament in July, so there is some pretty good talent here. I should be down both days depending on the NHL playoff schedule. You can find the schedule and rosters here,

I assume its safe to say UND has their eyes on this kid:

But does anyone know for sure??

I just assume ND kids are looked at closely. Particularly ones with D1 potential. Do you think our staff wants to let too many go elsewhere if they have the capability to contribute at UND?

Blake Heinrich a defenseman from Hill-Murray has committed to Duluth, not sure how interested the Sioux were in him but I really liked how he played and his style when watching him play in the state tournament he looks to be a very solid player, good size, very physical, and a decent skater.
