This guy must have forgotten the settlement that caused UND to have two tribal approvals in exchange for more time to achieve them.

Why would they agree to this if it initially only needed one tribes approval and they have always had that?

Something doesn't make sense with your statement, not that I want to get into ANOTHER nickname argument with you!

You are right, darrel is once again trying to start another nickname fight. The NCAA required two tribes to approve the name, UND had one. the extension was asked for to try and get approval from the 2nd

BTW, I like mark as the SSB singer

The agreement gives UND three years to obtain permission to use the nickname from two Sioux tribal governments within the state on the Standing Rock and Spirit Lake reservations. After both sides sign the settlement as expected, the lawsuit will be dismissed with prejudice, according to North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem.

Lawsuit settlement requiring 2 tribes' approval reached in October 2007.  Spirit Lake didn't have their vote of approval until April 2009.

You're right of course, they did vote to approve the name after the agreement. It was after Standing Rock refused to vote, and we lost the name,  that Spirit Lake added that it was always approved due to the ceremony

Remember Mark was Cleveland's requested choice for a World Series game - if the LCS's had been over in 4 or 5, the World Series could have started this weekend, and a few weeks ago Cleveland was a favorite to get back there.  I'm guessing Mark was blocked out from singing in case he had to be in Ohio.  Turns out, he appears to have been in Philadelphia Sunday...

For what it is worth a men's quartet "Higher Ground" sang the anthem at the VB match Saturday morning...........................meh.

This is what some people want.....glee clubs like "Higher Ground" and "Fall Creek" to sing the anthem every single game. Meh doesn't cover it, more like Ugh!!!
