Oh, I lost my mind....in keeping with the theme of this site...I must repeat 3 times before commenting..."UND has the greatest coaches, the greatest athletes, provides the greatest education, had the greatest nickname and logo, and the most loyal , OBJECTIVE...and supprtive fans of any university in the nation and never raise issue with any of the aforementioned" What was I thinking???

Nice off-topic rant.  Clearly you've never read a men's basketball thread after a loss or a men's hockey thread after giving up a goal.

You've been warned about your attempts to derail threads before.  Don't push your luck now.

Local talent????? Really.....?????  There's not enough of that....especially in ND....MN women have many in state programs...equal or superior to UND....Look at female rosters of UMD, Bemidji State, and ST. Cloud  State....they are UND's competition for female talent....

ND girls high school hockey has gone a bit downhill the last 3-4 years. But from what I've seen from some U14 teams in the state it should swing upward soon.

Fire Ideski?

simple question

Not sure if you did it on purpose, but if it WAS serious, you probably shouldn't be asking that question when you can't get Idalski's name right.

I think he needs to go and should have been let go a long time ago. UND should be completing with Minnesota and Wisconsin, but they are not and have made very little sustained success against them. Look how Duluth made a coaching change and is now getting back to being a national power again.

Its time for Idalski to go and time to stop catering to the twins by keeping him.

If Idalski is around because of the Lamoureux twins wants, for the good of the program it's time for the twins to either step in (meaning coach) or step out.

Schlossman carrying WH's water again.  That was a two million dollar appearance on the Today Show.  Let's monitor future attendance now that this extraordinary event has happened.......

Women’s college hockey isn’t just about a few teams winning while being stacked with a couple of superstars anymore. Depth is as important as anything else and the pool of talented players has grown exponentially. That’s what makes for so many close games.

Four countries recorded at least one shutout (United States, Canada, Russia, Finland), and the 21 games produced only 88 goals, an indication that parity has arrived as the weaker teams improve. Further, North Americans are no longer able to score at will the way they used to.

Furthermore, individual players aren’t as dominant as they used to be.

And when they did get a little success against them, they stubbed their toes too many times to not make the national tournament. That's been my main frustration with Idalski.  I get slipping up once or twice (it happens) but with the slim margin of error this team has when they don't consistently beat or get a positive result against the big dogs and the yearly editorial from Brad saying how important not slipping up in non-conference play is and this year will be different and having the same thing happen again, and again, and again

The teams most successful season, Lammy's senior years, the difference between making it and not making it was an OT winner against BSU.

The program has hit a plateau, its lights years ahead of the dark ages (watching them my freshman year in 09-10 was brutual at times), but they haven't taken that next step. Had a chance with Lammys/Special K/Shelby A-B, but couldn't break through. Time will tell if this freshman class will help bring UND back into the NCAAs.

Whoever is the coach next year is going to have a team with zero seniors.

Is it possible that coach Idalski is grooming the twins for co-coaches, and AD is in on this? 2 for the price of 1 so to say, till they turn the program around, then salary goes up? Really sounds out of the ordinary, but a group of us have casually been talking about this.  WH is here for the long haul, and there may be good plans for the not so long away future.

Then they would be in positions that are assistant coaches, like a volunteer assistant. Ones a strength and conditioning coach and the other is a volunteer assist coach.

I see that UND missed on two people that could have been the head coach here in the last two years, ones in Bemidji the other is the former Minnesota assistant now head coach at Ohio State.

Another is at Robert Morris (Paul Colontino, former assistant at UND).

Against Duluth, Minnesota, and Wisconsin this year, the team went 0-9-3. Not a recipe for success.

Those 3 schools have a record of something like 63-3-8 against all other teams this year. UND had 3 of those 8 ties. Mankato, Bemidji, and Boston U got the wins, Ohio State got 2 ties, Bemidji got 2, and Boston College got 1. Wisconsin, Duluth, and Minnesota are currently 1,2, and 3 in Pairwise. So, no one is having much success against those 3 teams this season. UND is 13-4-3 against everyone else.

So what. They should be one of the teams like Bucky, the gophs and UMD. UND has all the advantages in the world with their facilities and what not but can't get over the hump. Changes needs to be made.

Those 3 schools have plenty of advantages, plus they have tradition on their sides. Duluth won 2 national titles before UND started playing. They have 5 total. Wisconsin has 4. Minnesota has 6 and have dominated most recent years. Those 3 schools have won every title ever given out by the NCAA except Clarkson in 2014. They have also taken 5 of the runner-up positions. Out of 32 teams playing in NCAA finals, those 3 schools represent 20 of the 32 spots.

Those 3 schools have dominated the number of Olympians. Minnesota still has the same successful coach for the past 9 years. Wisconsin has had the same successful coach for 13 years. Knocking the king off the top of the mountain isn't exactly an easy task.
