More Summit movement?

It is being reported that Horizon league has IPFW on short list to join their league.  The Summit is definitely a revolving door conference.  You have to wonder how long IPurdue  and Western Illinois will stay in the conference.   I am sure those Eastern teams don't like the home court advantage for the Dakota schools have  every year in the post season basketball tourneys..

Wasn't UMKC going back to the SL?

N Kentucky is probably the favorite, but then the Atlantic Sun would need more teams. The ASun could go after IUPUI or IPFW, although both want badly in the Horizon. If the Horizon goes to twelve, the Slummit could be cut off at its knees. IPFW plays baseball, and the Slummit cant afford to lose baseball teams if it wants to keep its autobid.

Once again more talk about a couple of schools (Indiana schools) potentially leaving the Summit.   Would UND consider  joining the Summit if the MVFC made an offer  to UND for football as well?  What does everyone think?

I sure hope so.

Same.  Travel is stupid in the Big Sky and most of the schools are kind of pathetic.  Would suck to leave the Montana's, but that is all we would be missing.  Imagine the savings in travel budget being spent on coaching....

Exactly. The Big Sky will announce FBS plans next spring. The other Dakotas will be begging and slobbering to join.

And the plans they announce will be that we aren't doing anything until the schools at the top make a decision.   The Sky isn't going anywhere until this is all settled and everything thought through.

I would be highly shocked if the Big Sky was going to FBS.

The Summit wasn't about to chance it, so they gave ORU no entrance fee to get to six baseball teams.

Do you have a problem with this?  Heck, the Summit would probably waive the entrance fee for UND also.

The MVC is not near as sexy as it once was.  Geographically and sports wise, the Indiana schools in the Summit have a better chance of getting in as they are closer to the other members and they do not sponsor football.  A football centric school scares the crap out of Commissioner Elgin.

Like it or not, the Dakota schools need to focus on the strengthening the Summit and make it the NCC 2.0.

Actually they told UND no for baseball.  Pissing off several of the 'Dakota' coaches in the process.
