Future UND/ Bison football Game

After reading the article on the negotiations to try get a football game again, NDSU and Taylor are really starting to look like a bunch of childish goofballs. Kind of sad for the fans in North Dakota.

This just shows a lack of character but we shouldn't be surprised. Gene told a Fargo reporter years ago that SU wouldn't play UND as long as he and/or Chappy were around. Fargo reporter didn't dare report it for fear of being banned from access to SU athletics.

If you won't play that is fine but own up to it and don't hide behind disingenuous negotions while you stall and then pull out of the verbal agreement you made.

So Taylor proposed dates and Faison agreed to it and sent Taylor multiple e-mails and a draft contact which Taylor just ignored. While no contract was officially signed, seems pretty obvious they had a deal lined up and Taylor backed out on it. But I guess a home and home with Weber helps them meet that revenue number Taylor says they need to generate.

Glad that UND is sticking to guarantee games that bring in significant revenue (FBS) and away games that come with a return game attached. No reason to take a below market guarantee from someone who negotiates in bad faith.

I don't see the point of Faison trying to get this rivalry back together if NDSU doesn't want to play UND.

Faison cares about the fans and wants to give them the game that 98% of the people want to see?

this thread is drowning in irony.

All of these could just as easily be coming from the other direction.

NDSU doesn't want to play and they don't seem to care. Move on already.

Fixed it for you. If UND wanted to play the game.... They could have not shut the game down in the first place.

If your significant other moves to a different town for a way better job.... And you break up with him/her.... Can you be mad if when you move to the same town he/she doesn't want to be with you anymore?

Nope. At this point in time... NDSU makes the rules. Deal with it.

Gene Taylor clearly has an inflated ego, and is letting emotion guide his business decisions. As difficult as it is to schedule home and homes, there's no reason not to play a team an hour away.

You left out the part about hooking up with your ex six times throughout the year, doing your thing and leaving before she wakes up. I could see how the female in this situation would be fun scared to commit.

I can understand why Gene would not find UND to be a trustworthy business partner. It's been ugly since before he got there, got uglier immediately, and showed little sign of change.

TBH if Faison was interested in renewing the rivalry he wouldn't whine to the media about it ever year. If anything is counterproductive, it's that. In fact, I'm pretty sure its the reason that the round of negotiations outlined in the article were cancelled.

Well...I think SU has made it clear that those are nothing more than hookups.

Own up to what? We can schedule how we please. If you cant play on on our terms youre just gonna have to deal with it. We dont need to play you guys as much as you need to play us

Uhh did you read the article? Faison agreed on Taylor's terms, and then he sketched out. Real classy.

You mean like that time that one school sat on multiple contracts for several sports which they publicly and privately promised to sign only to publicly and with great fanfare cancel the whole thing at the last second, leaving the other school to find out from the media? You know, publicly lying to and misleading the other for the sole purpose of causing damage to their department? Yeah GT is totally in the wrong here and his position is without merit.

That are affecting FU's decision to commit to a long term relationship. Your kidding yourself if you think otherwise.

Own up to the fact that you aren't going to play UND because you are still mad at them and don't agree to a set of games and then change the rules after the other side agrees to your terms. Man up and own who you are and quit pretending. I really don't care if we ever play again.

What trustworthy business partner makes an offer and then pulls it once the other side agrees to their terms. There was no whining from Faison here. These emails were obtained by the Herald through and open records request.
