Randklev with a goal tonight in a loss to Tonka.  He is a really good playmaker in minimal space.  Great hands.

I went down to Moorhead to watch last night's game. My nephew plays for Tonka so it gave me an opportunity to see Carter Randklev. I can say with great confidence that he's very, very, fast. He's also has a very shot. I thought that UND recruit Ethan Frisch was pretty good, too.

Sanderson? The name "Coltyn" jumps to mind and I begin to ask and wonder ...

Most surprising improvement for any player I've ever seen in his senior year. That's one fish bowl I'll never forget.

Personally, I think Olaf Sanderson from D2: The Mighty Ducks. The goon who cheap shotted Adam Banks in the preliminary round of the Junior Goodwill Games causing Banks to miss several games. He then was calf roped by Duane Robertson in the tournament final. But, that's just me :D

What's the word on Sanderson? What kind of player are we getting here?

Don't know what kind of player he is. He was a 4th round pick in the WHL draft and son of Geoff Sanderson.

Here's some bullet points from what I could gather:

  • 4th round WHL draft pick
  • 6'0"
  • Made Team Alberta in the WHL Cup (1-2-3 in 5 games) -- WHL Cup features the highest rated U-16 players in the 4 Western Provinces
  • Currently plays for the Edge School for Athletes 15s, leading D-scoring, PPG would put him tied for 2nd overall (6-12-18 in 14 games)

Seems like a solid player for his age, bodes well that he's currently one of the top d-man for his age group in Alberta. Like so many recruits that are this young, you just hope the continue on the trajectory they are currently at.

Is it odd that Elite Prospects doesn't list Geoff as his father, but does list Geoff as having a son, Benjamin?

That's weird. Geoff has three sons I believe.

From what I've seen with players drafted in the major juniors is that the kids most likely are college bound get drafted in the late rounds.

He's got an older brother, Ben, playing in the AJHL right now. 13-5-18 in 32 games, 17 years old with pretty good size. Wonder if the staff is watching him as well.

Cole Shepard is following the coaches on twitter, I think Cole Sillinger is too.

Luke Sillinger would be a nice pickup along with Rizzo.

The guy who just committed to BC was the best player at Shattuck. GPL was saying on of their commits just left Shattuck for the USHL.
