Fox College Sports has this game listed as being on their network this weekend. The only problem is I don't know if that means it will be on DirecTV or not. DirecTV has one FCS channel on 617, but from what I understand there are three different FCS channels and I'm not sure which one of them is the one that I get on DirecTV. Anybody here have any information on this subject?

There's supposed to be a TV related announcement coming from the SID's office by end of business today, not sure if it's related to this or not.

According to this http://msn.foxsports.com/id/1523311 it appears that the North Dakota football games will be on both FCS-Central and FCS-Atlantic.  It looks like FCS-Central will be UND's primary channel, but FCS shuffles games due to scheduling conflicts.  My guess is that if you want to watch all of the FSSN produced games this season, you'll need all three FCS channels.

The fightingsioux.com news release confirms that the upcoming UND-USD game going to be on FCS-Atlantic.

Saturday’s UND Homecoming football game against South Dakota will be seen live on Fox College Sports Atlantic at 4 p.m. Central and will be re-broadcast five times beginning at midnight Central on Sunday morning.

Here's what I can tell you about DirecTV 617:  This channel is live feed only.   All of the college football on DirecTV 617 has been FCS Central in nature the last two Saturdays, but I can't confirm that will be the case if conflicts arise.

From my experience having had digital cable a few years ago, the cable super regional FCS stations (Atlantic, Central, Pacific) would pick up programming that was also on one of the Fox Regional stations, which are all part of the dish and directtv sportspaks, so, if satellite subscribers don't get the superregionals, they should be able to find the games on one of the sports pak regionals.

Correct, but last year I believe FCS has started to carry original live programming.  According to the attached link, Coyotes at Sioux is a Fox College Sports exclusive, which is the intent of DirecTV 617.  Fox Sports Midwest is picking up the Southern Illinois at Western Illinois game, so if my research is right there will not be a conflict on 617 for Sports Pak subscribers.  Will know more probably Thursday night.  In any event, what a fantastic and exciting announcement.  To borrow a phrase from my cousin from Scotland, I'm "over the moon about it".  :D

no. FCS has until last September been a cable only offering. Basically the equivalent of the multi-sports pack that D & E have. The issue arose when FCS started getting exclusive games. DirecTV has added channel 617 to show some of the games (live ones only). Dish does not have a channel like that (that I am aware of)....they might pull a alternate channel for it maybe

Edit -- first thought you could probably learn something by looking over your next week's program guide (which is probably why UND finally made this announcement today).  However, I now notice on the hockey and football schedules that this week's games are listed as FCS-Atlantic, whereas the rest are just listed as FCS.  Hmmm.

Saturday’s UND Homecoming football game against South Dakota will be seen live on Fox College Sports Atlantic at 4 p.m. Central and will be re-broadcast five times beginning at midnight Central on Sunday morning.

Sunday’s men’s hockey exhibition game against Manitoba will be telecast live on FCS Atlantic beginning at 6 p.m. Central.

Sioux Sports Extra can be seen weekly on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. Central on Fox College Sports Central. The show will also be seen at other selected times, including 3:30 p.m. Central on Saturday prior to the kickoff of the UND-USD football game.
(From: UND broadcasts go nationwide, Fox College Sports to carry Sioux telecasts)

You can probably determine a lot about which games you're going to get by looking over your next week's program guide (which is probably why UND finally made this announcement).  You should see some of the following events, if you're going to get any:

Again from a DirecTV perspective, the words "only on" are the tip that 617 will be picking it up.  No coaches show on DirecTV I don't believe unless one of the Fox Sports regionals picks it up, which I doubt.

Yes, we have two FCS exclusives overlapping now.  Guess well know more Saturday but I'm not liking it.

UND needs to get a press release out with a guide as to where the games can be found on each major cable/satellite provider.

The online guide does not show channel 623. Is this an alternate channel if you look on your on screen guide?
