Nope, it doesn't say anything about the PP slowing down. It speaks to having 3 first line PP guys gone.

How about the other line UM fans and our good friends at Fox North use around this time of year. "We are a young team" :D
:D

I was in Grand Forks for the St. Cloud series in mid-December and Dagwoods/Overtime was closed. I don't know if there are any plans to re-open anytime soon.

as far as I know, there aren't any plans to re-open it. It has remained boarded up all fall.

1.) We are a young team
2.) They are tired from the WJC (in March)

I think the Sioux have always suffered from hot goalie syndrome since I started following the team in 1992.
What is that 17 years? I wonder if the KFAN boys will make an appearance this weekend at the long haul saloon?

Here's a good sign for this weekend... Video

Notice the hockey team celebrating when Ray talks about the coyotes.

Sweet sassy malassy, Sioux sweep.

That is awesome!
Remembering the good old days with MSC before it was FSN.

That move that Shriner put on the Gopher player on the assist of the 7th Sioux goal was sweet.

I am a little worried about these upcoming games. They will be pretty huge games and watching how the Sioux played the Beavers, I am a little worried for these.

But none the less, I got faith for the boys in Green. Let's get a HUGE sweep against the Gophers Guys!

Shameless plug -- videos posted on the nascent videos page are already getting 500-1000 click-throughs, now I just need to get more people contributing. I suspect a Gopher-week "look back at UND vs UMN 1992" would do well... :D

have you noticed a difference with minnesota on home ice compared to nhl size ? i havent seen many gophs games so havent had the chance to notice anything. do the gophs roll the same 18 out every game pretty much or do they flip flop a player or 2 depending on the week?

The only real flip flopping of players that has been done seems to be this past weekend for WJT. Schack got some playing time that he usually doesn't see, but like the other poster said it wouldn't surprise me to see him out on a little smaller sheet of ice against a more physical team.

There's usually a change between lines it seems like, but players stay pretty similar.

I can almost guarantee that the first line will be Stoa/Schroeder/Barriball, but from there its a crap shoot. 2nd line is usually some combination of Hoeffel/Lucia/Flynn/White/Carman, but who knows.

Guessing the first D line will be Fischer and Ness again, 2nd one Anderson and Fairchild, 3rd one Wehrs and Loftquist.

Also I think the small ice fits the Gophers style well, especially guys like Ness, Fairchild, Schroeder, etc....guys that can really pass the puck quick and accurately. Going to be a great series.

(Oh, and Kangas will give up 2 each night, mark it down)

Newman was certainly left out to dry several times but he also wasn't much of a goalie, at least in that game. Must have struggled with geometry in school.

But with no more Dubay it will be 2 hours 45 minutes of hockey talk, 10 minutes of basketball and 5 minutes of pro and college hockey. Granted Dubay was a Gopher homer but at least he gave us all COLLEGE hockey talk on the airwaves.
