  1. Looks like Jackson is in the line up tonight for Carolina. They are resting a few of their main forwards, and he is listed on the fourth line. Good luck to him!
  2. I have two tickets for the Maryland Heights Regional that I cannot use due to a family issue. This regional was close, so I bought tickets early. They are in Section 123 Row 1 - Seats 1&2. Obviously great seats on the glass. I have been going to the Frozen four for over 35 years, and will be in St. Paul to watch some great hockey whoever ends up there. Do not post on here much due to most of the content of the posters, especially in the game tabs. If UND is in Maryland Heights, and you want these tickets for cost ($120), please PM me and I will transfer them to you through ticketmaster.
  3. There was a boarding penalty by a Denver player, Matikka? at the end of the game. Denver got away with this last year at the end of a game, and likely will again. It is amazing how they get away with all this stuff. I am sure it will not be looked at by the NCHC gang.
  4. Just wanted to put this out there from an interview TJ Oshie gave after the recent game. He wore a neck guard (I believe it was like a turtleneck) and was asked about it in the post-game interview. He was questioned on it, and I believe he responds at about the 2:40 mark of the interview link I have attached. Basically, he wants the youth to see guys like him wear it, and I think he is being a great role model for the young players out there. Postgame | TJ Oshie | Washington Capitals (nhl.com)
  5. Thought folks might like to see this prospect list of A-Rated players on the NHL web site. Sacha Boisvert getting some love as an "A" rated prospect. Good read for those interested in the 2024 draft. Celebrini, Eiserman earn A rating from NHL Central Scouting | NHL.com
  6. Go to the schedule tab and you should be able to go back to the date of the games. I have watched Saturdays game Monday because I was at an event I could not watch it live. In the schedule tab, they have the highlights and archived game. They sometimes have a condensed version of the game, but have not seen it yet this year.
  7. It is always interesting to see the comparisons from year to year. I hope the weight gains are accurate. I see it as especially important for McLaughlin to have gained muscle weight over the summer with Pooly's assistance. I would love him to be our second line center, but he needed to improve his strength on faceoffs. I think his talent is there to handle that with the increased confidence of being 55-60% on faceoffs and having the puck more offensively. Gaber would also benefit from the extra muscle weight. Again, hope these are accurate, but am excited for the season to start.
  8. I do not think this will get much traction, but is interesting to see who is leading the charge to get the Redskins name back. In the times we live in now, I cannot imagine that this will happen. Interesting none the less. Native American Guardian's Association NFL Redskins - TheBlaze
  9. He is an exciting player, and will be a great addition. Based on past NHL drafts, due to his size I am predicting an early third round choice. He will be much better than those "projections" in college (see Jackson Blake - fourth rounder). I am sure some folks will cry about "blue chippas" with where he will be selecteed, but this kid will be awesome to watch.
  10. I thought I would put this article in the Herald on this site about Warroad's fight to keep the Warrior's name. Warroad Public Schools to request exemption from law banning use of Native American nicknames - Grand Forks Herald | Grand Forks, East Grand Forks news, weather & sports Looking at the requirements, I do not think there is any way that they will be able to maintain the nickname is the cancel culture times we live in now. The Minnesota legislature made that pretty clear in the writing of the bill. What do you think the odds are in their fight?
  11. NCHC has made the call in many games prior to this that a major - game misconduct happening late in the third period, meant you sit out the next game. That happened to a couple of North Dakota players the last couple of years, and I believe a couple of players from other teams (not Denver of course). The players that I reference did not have a third game misconduct to sit out that next game, only the timing of the penalty.
  12. Just a question that I think needs to be answered. I watched the end of the Denver-CC game last Saturday, and at the end of the game (19:41 of the 3rd) Denvers Captain - Justin Lee - got a 5:00 major and a game misconduct for face masking. The timing of the penalty usually means that the player would have to sit out the next game. It has happened a couple of times before to North Dakota players, and I see nothing about it on the NCHC web site that he is unavailable for Fridays game against UND due to this penalty. Not sure if this is the typical "Denver RUle" on penalties, or what the real explanation is for this call on the ice.
  13. I met Travis at a conference in Orlando years ago. He introduced himself, when he saw I was wearing a shirt with a Sioux logo. Took time to talk to me and was a great conversation. He had a wonderful passion for the game. Showed me his championship ring with great pride, as he should have in being part of the team. May he rest in peace.
  14. None of these players that played in this tourney are being "delayed" in their arrival to UND. Swanson is a new commit, and I believe he is the youngest (or one of the youngest) that was on this team, which is why he is a couple of years out from arrival on campus. Strathmann and Livanavage are on schedule. Some players development does not progress due to a number of conditions, but these three are on the schedule.
  15. The Finland pre-tourney game was not on NHL Network. The pre-tourney game tomorrow against Sweden is on the NHL Network. All four of the preliminary round games will be on the NHL Network, and it looks like they all start at 3:00 central time.
  16. It was a great game to watch. I had seen Strathman play a few times, and am very impressed. Will not make us forget about Sanderson, but he is a high end talented D-man with good size and skill. Livanavage is a good player, but undersized, which is the likely reason he was not drafted. Just started to watch Swanson is this tourney since he committed. He has his dads speed and skating ability, and I am excited about the talent improvement as he has a couple of years before he arrives.
  17. No . . . . No . . . . , He just understands the game a lot better than most of the posters on here.
  18. Looks like Mitchell Miller signed an entry level contract with the Bruins. Looks like it will be Montgomery's headache if he ever makes it to the National. Kids got talent, so we will see how this works out.
  19. Here is a link to the story from FoxNews. I am sure you can find others. Boston University researchers claim to have developed new, more lethal COVID strain in lab | Fox News
  20. My fault on that one as I was typing. I totally agree it would be Farmer with Johnson at D. I also agree with the possibility of playing an extra D on the big ice, which would be Bast if he is healthy. I do stick with the forward lines that I have, but would not want the fourth line out with the top Minny line unless Albrecht was a part of it instead of Ness. Since Minny has the last change, that is my reason for concern.
  21. Here are my thoughts on the lines against Minny on just what I have seen so far and a bit of commentary on why: Gaber Schmaltz Blake Hain Senden Jamernik Costantini McLaughlin James Ness Strinden Caulfield Extra Forward: Kunz/Albrecht Frisch Kleven Moore Jandric Farmer Johnson DeRidder We have a great wealth on center on this team, but we need the best face off guy with Blake and Gaber, and that is Schmaltz right now. Defensively this is not a great line, and I would play Kleven and Frisch with them as much as possible. I could see McLaughlin swapping with Schmaltz, without a lot of issues. Costantini needs to play on a scoring line, and being with McLaughlin I think is a great way to bring in a little more offense. Strinden needs to get some more time, and I think this could be a great heavy line. They may not see a great deal of ice time on the big sheet in Minny (Probably 10-13 minutes of 5x5). I think Kunz plays Saturday in place of Ness in that swap with Ness. I had seen a lot of DeRidder the last couple of years and he is a great goaltender. He will prove that in the future. The D will get themselves together and I like the Sidorski/Johnson line as Sidorski is a little more defensive minded and can back up Johnson or Bast when he gets back.
