  1. True. We never missed class for cold in the 80's. What a bunch of pussies.
  2. Ah, I had not seen that. It does not improve my opinion of the logo. Why does what looks like a V hanging off the right side of the N go below the line of text? It just looks dumb.
  3. I would like to know what the N is supposed to look like without the bird present. Why the big dip on the lower right quadrant? I am not loving the new logo. I gave it a D
  4. While I played basketball for the Sioux in the early 1980s, and graduated from UND, I must admit I don't spend much time following the current UND sports teams. That does not change the fact that I think changing the team name sucks, both in the concept and the execution.
  5. I guess you are just a bigger fan than I am, you win.
  6. I have not lived in North Dakota for 20 years. The team formerly known as the Sioux don't get much air time where I live now.
  7. I don't care if you are annoyed. That's the way I feel. Deal with as you see fit.
  8. I caught some of the UND game vs Western Michigan the other day. It was the first time I had heard the Fighting Hawks used by broadcasters. I threw up in my mouth a little bit.
  9. It is safe to say that I will never buy a piece of fighting Hawk gear. Sorry, that is just the way I roll.
  10. I expect the new logo to look about like Daffy Duck with a slightly pointier bill.
  11. Which is just another example of why Fighting Hawks is a stupid name.
  12. You are welcome. Glad you could come to grips with it.
  13. I am sitting 25 minutes from Kinnick stadium as I type. It's Hawks.
  14. Thankfully, the character Hawkeye in Last of the Mochicans was white, or I am guessing the NCAA would have gone after them as well, and then I would be doubly pissed.
  15. HopHead, although the #5 Iowa Football team is officially the Hawkeyes, here in Iowa they are universally referred to as the Hawks.
  16. After going through the process that came up with this name, why would you hold out any hope of a similar process coming up with a really cool logo?
  17. I have not lived in the GF area in just over twenty years, and I rarely get back to town to catch any sporting events. I am sadly disappointed with the bland nature of the new name. I will take comfort in the fact that while they can change the name of the current UND sporting teams, it will not change the name of the team I played for back in the early 1980s. Go Sioux.
  18. I voted Roughriders this go around, but I can guarantee that I will never buy any new merchandise. I will have to get by with the Sioux gear I already own.
  19. Hey, I live in Cedar Rapids and our junior team would like in on that action.
  20. I am here to tell you I find the name Nodak hostile and abusive.
  21. Add me to the list. They can change the name of the team currently playing at UND, but that does not change the name of the team I played for back in the 80's. I will never buy another licensed piece of North Dakota sporting apparel.
  22. I was in Rapid City, South Dakota over the holidays. I was surprised by how many Fighting Sioux items I saw being worn by native americans there. I guess they didn't find it hostile or abusive. Go figure.
  23. I bet the Thunder costume is stuffed in a closet in the Slop somewhere.
  24. OK, now that I know what it is, that is as stupid as any of the other names I have seen. Pass.
