I have a buddy in Buffalo who's a huge Sabres fan and periodically sends me info about former Sioux players. This came this morning 3/5:

Eddie Schultz just reported that 6 North Alabama football players were tested for drugs and 2 tested positive! Anyone else heard this? Does anyone know what the consequenses of this might be?

I believe that Gene Taylor is on the selection committee. Can anyone confirm this? As I recall, he's on either the regional or national committee. Politics does play a role here and he might be the bison ace in the hole if he can call in favors from other committee members.

I appologize for being a few days late on this reply to the conversation from last week but my computer has been inoperable. I was really enjoying the discussion on the nickname and the quasi-political leanings until "elmduf" declared himself "pro NAMBLA." That's when I got this sick feeling. Do folks know what NAMBLA stands for? It's the North American Man Boy Love Association! If I were you, I'd probably be burning the evidence about now. Wow, this has really gotten off track.

I sure had a great time at the Sioux-per Swing in Rugby yesterday! Thanks to Randy and the Rugby folks for all their work and thanks to Roger Thomas, his staff, and the Sioux-per coaches for being there to promote Sioux athletics. As Roger said, it was a "fan raiser" and not a "fund raiser." It was a blast. I hope others take advantage of this opportunity at other sites in the future. And, you don't need to be much of a golfer to participate and have fun. THANKS!! GO SIOUX!!!
