  1. i've heard through my local sources that two players will be out for the Firebirds tonite, so that definately is not helping their situation.
  2. Devils Lake will have 10 returners or so who got good ice time last year, 6 or 7 of them being Juniors this upcoming season. They only graduated 4 seniors, and still have their top goalie. Their first line lost a center and their second line lost a right wing, and their Defense took a hit losing two good D, one of which is Alex Olson who made the Bobcats last weekend. 6 of their top 10 scorers are coming back this year.
  3. The name of the kid that transfered from Devils Lake to GFC was Keaton Wolf, I believe. Played goalie.
  4. On to another topic, who does everyone expect to be the top 2 or 3 players to lead their team to success this season in the West and/or East?
  5. Ok, I am sorry too. I just get ticked off when it sounds like people who are in the East already or smart guys from the West try and bash the team. What you say is true, about finishing wherever. And yes, I'm biased, but if I could I'd put money on them finishing 4th at worst. Again, I'm sorry, I just have a short temper when it comes to burns on DL.
  6. They tied Williston and the almighty Grafton. 3 one goal losses to Minot, 1-0 loss to North. They had a young team. A Sophomore starting goalie, who did damn well and will be even better this year. This year they'll have another asset - "experience". They only lost 4 players. A large percentage of their scoring came from their to-be Junior class. You watch. They won't be HALF as bad as you're making them sound. I didn't say they're gunna take it to the East this year, I said they'll show up to play every game. Hardest workers in the State. I'll remember your comment during the season this year. We'll see who's right. Just cause they played in the West don't mean they're gunna get throttled. It'll be a tough transition, but give them some damn credit. They are a good team. They used to be in the East and did good, and the next two years they'll do good as well.
  7. Devils Lake isn't in the West anymore. They switched with Jamestown at the end of this last season. You're right about everything except that. Oh, and they will make noise in the East this year.
  8. The 1990 Minnkota Stars are also in the tourney. They should have a few good players as well.
  9. Personally, I think it will be Carolina, but I want Edmonton to get the cup. With the loss of Roloson for the rest of the series, I see the Oil's goaltending as a big question mark. It was one of their strengths, and now it is potentially a weakness. So my Vote --> Mike and the Canes come down with the cup.
  10. Nice to see Zach get the first one out of the way, on a nifty little tip. Here's to many more Zach!!
  11. I'm guessing that these will be some of the top seniors next year - Kyle Everson (DL), Michael Mack (DL), Tyler Klein (FN), Matt Labernik (FN), Danny Wurden (South), Sean Deichert (South), Zach Miller (GPR), Tanner Hills (GPR), Nathan Stremick (Minot), Shawn Erickson (Williston), Kyle Haugenoe (Williston) That's just from what I know, I don't have any information on some of the other teams.. What does everyone else think? And another question, who will be some good Juniors this coming hockey season?
  12. TND should be pretty good the next two years as well if everything keeps up. The sophomores and juniors from this past season represented pretty well.
  13. Today I heard for the first time that Hillman has signed a tender with the Bobcats. If it is true, I am not sure. So don't quote me on this, but I did hear it. If it is true however, does that mean he can still play at BHS next year? I'm unsure on that. Anyone know?
  14. I am not sure if this has been posted yet before, but in case it hasn't been, here goes: 2006 TEAM NORTH DAKOTA BOYS ROSTER No. Player Pos Ht Wt Yr High School Team 1 David Bown G 6
  15. Yes, Henry's kid is a peewee. I believe he will be a 2nd-year Peewee next year. He has turned in his retirement papers to the school offices, but he may stay around and coach at least one more year. It sounds like he is going to have his summer program for his players, so I assume if he has the summer program, that he will be coaching this coming season.
