  1. I voted no because I find it rather amusing when UND loses to a DAC 10 team - don't want it to stop.
  2. For the 2005 season - he was a senior on the SDSU football team. His eligibility ran out at the DI level - he still has a year left at the DII level.
  3. If UND wants to play U of M in the 3rd year of DI - they would have to have 57 or more scholarships for the 1st 2 years of transition.
  4. What is Lennon's salary at UND?
  5. That was one of the best games that I have seen at Frost Arena. It was a very well played basketball game by both sides. Beasley made shots from about everyplace on the floor that night.
  6. Sure UNO might have decided to go south and join another D2 conference but UNO would not want to be left behind and their football coach is in favor of 1aa football. I also think that St. Cloud and Mankato would have at least considered the move - where else would they go if they did not follow the departing NCC members? NSIC already has too many members and both schools have d1 hockey. As far as the 13 year rule - that is an obstacle - but no rule is written in stone. Several of UNC's, NDSU's and SDSU's teams (volleyball, wrestling, and ?)will be eligible for the national championships before the mandatory waiting period. An exception to this rule was made. If the conference was competitive and the NCCA could tell that it was in it for the long haul - I have to believe an exception would have been granted to the 13 year rule. Also with many schools moving up to D1 - the NCAA would have at least look at adding another automotic qualifer in the case of a new conference. How many years has it been since a new D1 conference? More than 20?
  7. The NDSU game wasn't even the largest gate last year - their were actually over 1000 more in attendance for the Augustana football game. Maybe SDSU should send Augie a thank you. Quick question - which school 4-5 years ago cast the deciding ballot for the NCC as a whole not to go D1 and then last fall come out and say they might be interested in D1. UND's lack of direction is one of the major reasons the NCC is now in shambles.
  8. Know your facts before you open your mouth. You talk and talk but do not know what the hell you are talking about. SDSU hasn't increased its football scholarships as quickly for one reason (and it was not poor planning like your university). The courts in South Dakota have come down very hard on Title IX violators. Look at USD , a former women's coach sued USD and won for Title IX violations. Look at USD baseball team - gone because the school either had to add women's sports, women's scholarships, and women's coaches or cut back on men's sports. SDSU needs to get its new women's equestrian team up and running before dramatically raising the football scholarships. That being said, if the Big Sky comes calling sooner rather than later - there is a plan to increase the football scholarships to required 60 right away. By the way, this year your football team would lose to both NDSU and SDSU. Last year UND won the game in Brookings for 2 reasons - 1. SDSU chocked in the final 9 minutes of the game blowing a 21-3 lead and - 2. The back judge called a catch on the final TD when the receiver trapped the ball (and yes the replays did show that the ball hit the ground). And another point - when you guys did win the national championship in 2001 - your 2 best players were from South Dakota. Don't count on getting recruits like these again.
