Live Streaming UND Hockey Games

Okay, I finally got with the 21st century this year. Have good 8 meg download high speed internet. A good laptop with an HDMI jack. An audio / video system with a 42" flatscreen TV. Yup. I'm modern now, baby!

I can get ESPN 3 on my TV without a problem. So, before spending money on a package to get UND home games (I know it's more than hockey...but It's for the purpose of watching the hockey games) I would like opinions/advise.

Are the games HDTV? Home games (in GF) only? Should I go three months? Any streaming problems? Audio problems? etc?

Just throwing it out there!

Thanks in advance!

WDAZ does not have an HD studio, so no HD equipment for doing the games. I have streamed SD from laptop to HDTV (via HDMI) for away games (purchased separately by the game), worked well, although making the streaming video that large (on a big screen) obviously reduces the quality, in some venues more than others.

I think the fighting Sioux package has streamed well for people more recently ( years ago did not work at all), so I wouldn't be afraid to get it. Also I'd guess the quality of streams from theralph, even though SD, will look better than most.

BTW, there is still only one TV station in the state that has an HD studio, that is the KX network (CBS) in MInot.

Watching the quality of ESPN 3 versus the quality of a Sioux hockey webcast whether it is through fightingsioux.com or b2.com is night and day. ESPN 3 is better than alot of cable channels. The other webcasts are usually very grainy and sometimes have poor sound. That being said, they usually are only like $7 a game and I find that better than listening to just the radio, so I find it worth it. Most of the time I can see the action alot more clear on my computer versus running it through an hdmi cable onto my tv. I would say for the money if you can't get fox college sports or fssn, it is definatey worth the 60 bucks for a season or whatever it is for the home webcasts on fightingsioux.com. The away webcasts that you can get on b2 are usually better quality than the ones on fssn. Thats just my opinion.
